2. I'm in CDT & just saw Hillary's speech...
It was great too. Very impressive; looked like much of it was off-the-cuff.

Missed Liz Smith's, except for the last line about "Ann Richards was one of the most alive people I've ever known. Let's keep her that way." Hope the transcripts of their speeches are up somewhere later...or a rebroadcast so I can catch the early bits.

16. Hil was pretty good too. Hard to follow Liz's. Yes, seemed off the cuff.

5. Ditto...I'm going to short out my keyboard...
Did you hear Ann's granddaughter Lily Adams's speech? Wow. That's all I can say...through the tears.

9. Me too, Lilly was memorable
and had me tearing up too.

What a woman was ANN RICHARDS.

We really know what we are up against when ANN RICHARDS could not stop the FRAUD from the Bush CROOKS and she was one smart little cookie!

featured a young woman from the family.

I would vote for Lilly any day.

She was trained by the master.

10. They haven't mentioned a replay

Jessye Norman was beautiful as were all the others.

As an African American and a woman, I was especially touched.

As I looked at the program and the guests, it was a color quilt of America, not the Texas of GW.

That's one reason why they could not let her get elected again,she believed that all people had worth and she did a lot for ALL people.

6. Please, any word on a repeat?
I thought I had read that the service would not be televised! I'm crushed to miss it.

18. Can't find a repeat
schedule on the C-Span page - but I did find a really nice coverage of the service:

Here

Be sure to click on the link "Memorial Images" for a wonderful 68 picture roundup of Ann's life from childhood on.

14. Liz Smith
I liked Liz Smith's speech the best, although the whole service was very moving and very well done. Loved when Liz Smith mentioned how Ann had recently given a Tom Delay pinata to George Clooney as a gift when they went out to dinner or lunch. That got the biggest laugh of the afternoon!

17. This is for Ann, she was our Yellow Rose
There's a yellow rose in Texas, that I am going to see,
Nobody else could miss her, not half as much as me.
She cried so when I left her, it like to broke my heart,
And if I ever find her, we nevermore will part.

She's the sweetest little rosebud that Texas ever knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, they sparkle like the dew;
You may talk about your Clementine, and sing of Rosalee,
But the yellow rose of Texas is the only girl for me.

When the Rio Grande is flowing, the starry skies are bright,
She walks along the river in the quiet summer night:
I know that she remembers, when we parted long ago,
I promise to return again, and not to leave her so.

She's the sweetest little rosebud that Texas ever knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, they sparkle like the dew;
You may talk about your Clementine, and sing of Rosalee,
But the yellow rose of Texas is the only girl for me.

Oh now I'm going to find her, for my heart is full of woe,
And we'll sing the songs together, that we sung so long ago
We'll play the bango gaily, and we'll sing the songs of yore,
And the yellow rose of Texas shall be mine forevermore.

She's the sweetest little rosebud that Texas ever knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, they sparkle like the dew;
You may talk about your Clementine, and sing of Rosalee,
But the yellow rose of Texas is the only girl for me.
