Does anyone know if the price of gas is dropping overseas?

I'm suspicious of the % drop and timing here in the US, but my friends say it's just supply and demand, end of summer, etc. Since oil is a world market, I'd expect to see similar price declines in other free market economies. Any "foreigners" on the board?

4. Have we EVER seen a 30% reduction in price due to end of season

demand for gasoline? Because that looks to be where we are headed. I don't remember one, and I remember filling up at 21 cents a gallon.

I know this is off the subject, but in thinking about your friends'statments that part seems potentially suspect.

So you can't tell me the drop is due to the summer ending because it certainly didn't affect the price last year.

The situation in England, France and Belgium is that Petrol (gasoline) and Diesel are cheaper now than they were 2 months ago (maybe around 10% less per litre?).

At the start of the year, gas was 81 cents a liter. It reached a high of $1.10 per liter. It is now $1.01 per liter.

So yes, gas prices are going down here. However, it is not nearly as dramatic as it is in the "election-pending" U.S.

But I still think the oil companies are manipulating the price in the US.

The question to ask is "why is the price of a barrel of oil going down?"

They say less demand. Oh, really? The northern hemisphere isn't going to need heat in the coming months?

Has supply increased? No one's suddenly pumping millions of barrels of oil they weren't pumping two months ago.

They say seasonal blends. That's a refinery issue, not a crude oil issue. Crude oil prices have dropped.

Have international conflicts in the region ceased without being reported? No. Iraq is still Iraq, Iran is still Iran and Hezbolla is still Hezbolla. Nothing has changed.

There is no "free market" explanation for the decline in the prices of crude oil or gasoline in the U.S.

The oil gangsters are fully in charge.
