Breaking: Gel-filled Bras Now Permitted on Board

http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2006/09/gelfilled_bras_.html

Gel-filled Bras Now Permitted on Board

Gel-filled bras are now on the TSA web site's list of items permitted on board to "ensure the health and welfare of certain air travelers." The bras are on the same list as various prescription and non-prescription drugs, life support liquids and baby formula.

However, all other liquids, gels, lotions and other items of similar consistency are still prohibited on board. Additionally, liquids, gels and lotions purchased beyond the checkpoint are to be disposed of before boarding the aircraft.

A spokeswoman for TSA said today the gel bra is an item that needed clarification since the list of prohibited items expanded due to the U.K. terror plot scare on Aug. 10. "If intelligence indicates we can safely allow a specific item on board an aircraft, then we will do so."

15. The abysmal asininity of the original ban will forever taint the public's
perception that asininity abounds at the highest places.

5. Hmm... how long till a bra-bomber?
I mean, if there was a shoe bomber, why not a bra one?

Seriously, that's as much of a risk as the shampoo bomber, or the mouthwash bomber.

8. This whole thing is so absurd .. .
. . .it's nearly impossible to create a bomb from mixing liquids together. Takes hours and creates lots of bad smells. Needs a lot of ice too.

12. Yep - this is all freakin bogus
I posted a story last week how TSA is missing items in carry-ons and how passengers are sneaking gels & liquid items aboard.
