Bush: "My Country Desires Peace"-So Why The Flurry Of Military Maneuvers?

Bush appeals to Muslims in U.N. speech

"My country desires peace," Bush told world leaders in the cavernous main hall at the U.N. "Extremists in your midst spread propaganda claiming that the West is engaged in a war against Islam. This propaganda is false and its purpose is to confuse you and justify acts of terror. We respect Islam."

Retired Colonel: ‘We Are Conducting Military Operations Inside Iran Right Now. The Evidence Is Overwhelming.’

“The plan has gone to the White House. That’s not normal planning. When the plan goes to the White House, that means we’ve gone to a different state.”

What Would War Look Like?
Posted Sunday, Sep. 17, 2006

A flurry of military maneuvers in the Middle East increases speculation that conflict with Iran is no longer quite so unthinkable. Here's how the U.S. would fight such a war--and the huge price it would have to pay to win it

The first message was routine enough: a "Prepare to Deploy" order sent through naval communications channels to a submarine, an Aegis-class cruiser, two minesweepers and two mine hunters. But inside the Navy those messages generated more buzz than usual last week when a second request, from the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO), asked for fresh eyes on long-standing U.S. plans to blockade two Iranian oil ports on the Persian Gulf. The CNO had asked for a rundown on how a...

1. He's right, for once. The COUNTRY does desire peace.
It's just him, and a cadre of warmongers at the top, who don't seem to want to.

2. Gonna do it before the elections
To drag the unwilling along. AFter the elections it'll be "oh you can't investigate and impeach a sitting war time president, cause we'll all DIE."

4. Peace via guns and bombs.
That's pretty much it - there's no negotiation, no discussion about differences of opinion or policy. It's a hard line with this asshole; do it my way or we'll blow your shit up.

5. That's very true, Georgieboi
Your country DOES desire peace. We also desire a lawfully elected President that respects the desires of the people.

7. That Bush quote just sent chills right through me.

Germany wants peace because of its fundamental convictions. And it wants peace also owing to the realization of the simple primitive fact that no war would be likely essentially to alter the distress in Europe... The principal effect of every war is to destroy the flower of the nation... Germany needs peace and desires peace.

8. "You can bomb the world into pieces, but you can't bomb it into peace."
Sadly BuSh*Co and the neo-Con cabal will probably never learn that threatening, bombing other countries and killing innocent people is not the way for OUR or any other country to find and help bring about true peace.
