Today my 12th grade daughter heard lecture by GOP county chief

It was a guest lecturer in her senior social studies class, the head of the Westchester County (NY)Republican Party (Minority, btw.) Tim Hays.

Some really great highlights:

"There are very very bad people in Iraq. We call them insurgents. The only true solution is to kill them all." (Emphasis on all.)

"We invaded Iraq so all the bad people would congregate there and we could go kill them."

"We invaded Iraq instead of Korea because it was easier."

"WMD are still out there somewhere and we have to keep looking."

When asked how we knew the WMD's were aimed at us, he said, "Call it a hunch."

When the kids told him all Hussein had was mustard gas, he said, "You'd be surprised how uncomfortable mustard gas can make you feel."

"We'll stay in Iraq a couple of more years."

"Saudi Arabia doesn't support Al Qaeida, but Hussein was suspected of meeting with Al Qaida leaders."

"Whatever we do with our captives is right, because we're the US and we have such strong morality."

"You should read opinion papers so you can come to your own conclusions."

The 12th graders tore his smarmy little wings off one at a time. They massacred him. They were furious, and kept up the argument when the bell rang.

My kid asked, "If we're dedicated to killing all the insurgents, how does that make us different from them?"

The lemming never had a chance. These are really sharp kids.

Iraqis did not rebel against civil authority but a foreign invader that removed the
existing government and installed a non-elected imperial consul in its place.

Bremer's official title was Consul of the Iraqi (sic) Provisional Authority.

The Provisional government representatives were chosen by the US. The names of the
candidates in the first 'election' were kept secret. No Iraqi politician holding
office today can claim elected authority by any common sense notion of democratic
process.
