What local Democrats are you supporting in the 2006 elections?
I thought this would be a good way of getting some of the lesser known Democrats around the country some attention.

Mine:

Lois Murphy for U.S. House (PA 6th district)

http://www.loismurphy.org/

Olivia Brady for state representative (PA 150th district)

21. Do you have any word on how that race is going?
I live overseas and am registered in that area. I keep hearing conflicting stories about who's doing better.
My parents, who hate both of the candidates (and they know both people fairly well) say the puke is polling well, but they expect Hare will win in the end.

2. Minnesota
Betty McCollum for US Representative

Rafael Ortega for Ramsey County Commissioner

I'll vote Indy for just about all else as I am very angry at Minnesota Democrats for refusing to fight against Governor Pawlenty's stupid corporate welfare schemes that will give KKKarl Pohlad a half billion dollar corporate welfare stadium and the other stadiums that are in the works. Minnesota Democrats have a tendency to rubber stamp Republicans and this gives the GOP further impetus. What was once a solidly Democrat state is shifting Republican even though it was a far better place to live in under the Democratic party.

7. LOL
I'm not even sure he'll vote for the Democratic majority.

Last I heard in my district, Lois Murphy is ahead of Gerlach by a few points, and Olivia Brady's race is close.

24. Have you heard about the new poll results?
The recent poll taken in the last week of August shows Sensenbrenner's approval at only 49% in this district that has been quite red in the past. Bryan Kennedy is within striking distance now.

Bless you, Parche, for your support. Those of us in the area are doing all the phone calling and lit dropping and envelope stuffing here, but we appreciate those of you around the country who are helping also. Anyone who would like to help can go to Bryan's website (see below) and kick in something for the TV commercials that we need to run to get Bryan's name recognition up. Then he'll win, and the political scene will explode!

8. My rep is Lynn Woolsey, (we're very proud of her!) she should be reelected
without a problem.

Here's a race everyone should be aware of, however- Suburban Chicago/North Illinois 10th District: Currently held by a Republican, Mark Kirk. Heavily pro-choice district, people are awfully fed up with Bushco.

Dan Seals (not the musician) is the Democrat running for the seat.

James (no)Talent out of office. She does not support the right for gays and lesbians to marry and I am not sure of where she stands on Iraq, but she's not Talent.

James (no)Talent MUST go NOW!

He lost to a dead guy surely Claire can pull this one through!

Edited on Tue Sep-19-06 10:20 PM by Blue_In_AK
My husband and I volunteer with her campaign.

http://www.bensonforcongress.com/

She's an excellent candidate and is enjoying a great deal of grassroots support from both Democrats and Sarah Palin Republicans against a corrupt congressman who has been in the House since his appointment in 1972. Alaska is in an anti-incumbent mood.
