I tuned in late, and heard most of their discussion w/o knowing who SC's guest was. Thought the guest was spot-on, and also showing a disarming tongue-in-cheek restraint...turns out to be Frank Rich. What an excellent surprise!
Colbert juggled it all deftly, and it was almost like watching tennis where two players are so smart and skilled they can actually play on the same side of the net, like doubles.
A wonderful segment.
