Poll question: Will George Bush's Presidency Survive?
This question is simple, will George Bush be allowed to complete his second term or will he not?

1. Of course he'll survive
Edited on Wed Sep-20-06 12:37 PM by SteppingRazor
Even if he's impeached, we'd need a two-thirds majority in the Senate to remove him from office. Assuming all goes great and we have a 51-49 majority in the Senate after the 2006 elections, that means we'd need 15 GOP senators to vote to remove him. The likelihood of that happening is about the same as the chances of me being our next president in 2008.

4. He may survive but he will be floundering as a chicken throat slashed
The Policies and Manuevers so far indicate ineptitude and arrogance with a bit of Brain Damage thrown in.

He wages war without knowing how...he violates the tenants of successful warfare.

The huge Drain on our Nation will continue to weaken us to the point of the People rejecting his Management style...

Once hearings take place and the sheeple wake up to the truth...well you know how politicians are...

Nobody thought anything would happen with those Watergate hearings, but then enough Republicans made the decision to go up and tell Nixon it was time to go. Never say never.

2. Unfortunately, I don't think 2 years is enough time to get sufficient
and provable details on his breaking the laws, and get asuper majority vote in the House to Impeach him. Plus, although I do think we are going to take back the Majority, I doubt very much it will be a large enough Majority to be able to push Impeachment through.

I also think that as the evidence begins to be presented in congress and the public gets a good whiff, big things will happen very quickly. I think Mr. Bush and The Dick will be forced to quit before all the evidence is even presented.

the ONLY things these clowns do well, or prepare for, is finding ways to deal with the truth ...

The BEST we can hope for is the House or Senate getting a D majority to even have hearings ...

Remember this quote from www.worldcantwait.net

"The point is this: history is full of examples where people who had right on their side fought against tremendous odds and were victorious. And it is also full of examples of people passively hoping to wait it out, only to get swallowed up by a horror beyond what they ever imagined. The future is unwritten. WHICH ONE WE GET IS UP TO US."

His name will be more hated than Nixon and more scorned than Harding. 100 years from now when someone refers to the drunken president they will not conjure images of Grant - Bush** will come to mnid for our great grandchildren.

37. The opinions of the Fighting 101st Keyboarders
are not actually that relevant to reality. My voting in an online poll and stating an opinion on a pro-Dem site is about as likely to get him impeached as your urging us to be optimistic and chastising us to "... go do something about it."

Impeachment would be icing on the cake, but it isn't the sum total of my existence or even political experience. I'm busy trying to fill the vacuum created in social services by Bush** and ilk policies. I'm busy volunteering my time to the area Democratic party to help elect politicians to replace the Bush** clan. I'm busy giving my up vacation time to be a poll worker to insure, from the inside, that at least my precinct will have a fair election. I'm busy writing on local government for my area paper so as to not let local govt go the way of Federal government.

Impeachment is not on my radar screen and isn't worth my energy. Change of direction for my country is. What, pray tell, are you doing to change the direction of this country?

fantasy world...and see the reality and not hiding their heads in the sand...Where the media, most people get their daily info from, is owned by five republican corporations. Where republicans own the method in which we vote (Diebold)...Where republican Sec. of States who count the votes are in place wherever needed...Where republicans have a never ending money supply as needed to bribe and corrupt where needed...Where republicans control all three branches of government and the US Supreme Court and the military...Your assuming far too much to happen in LESS than two years!!!

Where as in 2007 is when the new Congress takes up business. Bush will have less than two years left, no fucking way...Accusation, investigations, hearings, trials, rebuttals, etc...don't happen over night...Whit powerful republican fighting it EVERY step of the way...Shit, the elections campaigns of 2008 will be in full swing by that time...Get real, your expecting far too much in less than two years.

The question is for reality, not what you hope and fantasize will happen.

I've said this before, since shortly after 2004's abomination. I can see no other outcome. For a variety of reasons (e..g. psychological, criminal, political) he'll be martyred by the Reich - with a suitable scapegoat, of course. He's a massive potential liability as an ex-pResident and a workable asset as a martyr. Thus, they have little choice. (The ends justify the means.)

They WON'T let him out of office - not by impeachment and not by living until January 2009.
