Abramoff Allies Had Over 100 Bush WH Meetings Including Meetings With Bush

Papers show Bush allies' inside access By JOHN SOLOMON and SHARON THEIMER, Associated Press Writers

WASHINGTON - Republican activists Grover Norquist and Ralph Reed landed more than 100 meetings inside the Bush White House, according to documents released Wednesday that provide the first official accounting of the access and influence the two presidential allies have enjoyed.

The White House released the Secret Service visit records to settle a lawsuit by the Democratic Party and an ethics watchdog group seeking visitors logs for the two GOP strategists and others who emerged as figures in the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal.

Earlier this month, the White House suggested to the judge in that lawsuit that such records need not be disclosed because the information was privileged and might reveal how Bush and his staff get private advice, according to court documents obtained by The Associated Press.

White House officials said Norquist, who runs the nonprofit Americans for Tax Reform, was cleared for 97 visits to the White House complex between 2001 and 2006, including a half-dozen with the president.

2. That's just the in person visits
Abramoff and Norquist had a direct line to Rove that was open all the time. But of course, Bush hardly even knew them.

Edited on Thu Sep-21-06 09:26 AM by exlrrp
I know, I know, Bush didn't know any of them either, especially Ken Lay (rolls eyes here)
How come no one has ever done a study of the BUsh Pioneers and how well theyve done under the Bush administration?
DARN!! I keep forgetting (slaps forhead)--that would take a media that wasn't bought off.

6. Remember when Richard Clark was trying to get a meeting to warn Bush
about Al Queda? I guess he should have just said he wanted to meet with Bush to discuss how bad gays are.

WASHINGTON - A federal judge has ordered the Secret Service to release all records of disgraced GOP lobbyist Jack Abramoff's visits to the White House - which could prove an embarrassment for President Bush.

The logs are expected to show who Abramoff met with at the White House as well as when and how long he was there.

Bush has said he didn't know Abramoff, who pleaded guilty in a massive influence-peddling scandal. But photos show the two posing for pictures at the White House. Abramoff also raised more than $100,000 for Bush's 2004 reelection campaign.

16. Coincidence theorists could have a field day with this.

Hint: Atta wasn't playing blackjack.

One clue: Ringleader Mohamed Atta made a still-unexplained visit onboard one of Abramoff's casino boats less than a week before the attack.

A bigger clue: the man who owned the flight school favored by Atta and so many other terrorists had his Lear jet surrounded by DEA agents brandishing submachine guns on the runway of Orlando Executive Airport in July of 2000, the same month Atta began "training" at his flight school. They found 43 pounds of heroin onboard. For flight school owner Wally Hilliard, it was a 'blemish,' though not as yet one for which he has been asked to go to prison.

Several of the principals in the Boulis hit also have heroin trafficking backgrounds. What a surprise. Most of the world's heroin comes from Afghanistan, which used to be known as OsamaLand...
