stupid story to report on, as Keith has sometime in his career. I think it was more shop talk than anything else.

8. Yes. The last story was about live coverage MSNBC ran earlier today

while Chris Jansing was anchoring. They interrupted an interview she was doing with a "breaking news" story on an OSTRICH that had gotten loose and was supposedly on a school playground. Aerial views of the playground showed nothing--and with good reason. The ostrich had been caught before the chopper ever got airborne to show the scene.

Jansing was laughing at the ridiculousness of the whole thing (she really is smarter than the average news bubblehead) and saying "I went to college. I just want you all to know that." I think she was just struck by the absurdity that she was being forced to report on this.

As a result, when Keith turned it over to Joe, he had his head in his hands and was moaning "This was us?" Keith said to him, yeah, this was their network.

9. They were laughing at a MSNBC's "breaking news" report earlier about an

ostrich on the loose in a schoolyard. (Turns out the ostrich had been captured before the media helicopter got on the scene.) It was so bad the anchor reporting it was cracking up as was the guest she had been interviewing apparently about the space shuttle. (The guest at one point said something like, "That's breaking news? There must be a bicycle crash somewhere too.")

So Scarborough was cracking up when Keith turned it over to him. He asked, "That was on our network?" And that's when KO said, "It will happen to you as it has happened to me."

10. I love it when they do that ridiculous Breaking News music with the

comic dog or something doing the voice over and some wacky music.

That is the breaking new graphic and audio they need to use for that crap. It always cracks me up.
