Gas price manipulation....lies...help me on this one - was I dreaming?

OK - let's go back to the post Katrina gas price spike, back to the windfall Exxon profits, and to the previous arguments on gas prices in general. Was I crazy, or were some of the arguments for higher gas prices that we need more capacity, it takes time to bring distilleries on line, we are using old equipment, that gas prices change slowly over time and spikes are not directly related to direct time impacts, etc.

So, here we are, closing in on election day (or should be say election theft day?!) - and down go the gas prices. Reasons given - world tensions are abating (WTF?!), demand is slowing, and all sorts of BS that is exactly contrary to the original reasoning on why they went up.

This all stinks to me - it stinks of the Exxons of the world shaking in their boots about the Dems taking control of the government - and of absolute manipulation. We are being screwed - not of course for paying lower prices now, but for paying higher prices at all previously.

So, folks, am I crazy, or are the reasons for this or that being changed, manufactured, flip flopped by big business and the misadministration - and our incurious, yellow media is being completely complicit in the lies.

2. You're not crazy

One of the reasons for gas price hikes was tension with Iran. I wouldn't call the point we're at now "peace". In fact it's looking more and more likely that Bush** will provoke a unilateral war with Iran.

Another excuse is "summer driving" with prices that fall after Labor Day. I call total BS on that. Look at the gas price graphs going back years or decades -- there is nothing magical about Labor Day or September. Prices go up in September as often as they go down...and then just as often rise again in October/November.

There's major manipulation going on. Not difficult to do on a big scale when only a handful of oil barons control the product.

5. Not just oil prices being manipulated

They are driving down commodities, precious metals, interest rates, and propping up the stock market, so Bushco can tell the sheeple how well the economy is doing. The sheeple will get a temporary high and their anger tempered right before going to the polls. This way maybe they won't throw the bastards out of office. It may sound dumb but the sheeple fall for this shit all of the time, which is why these assholes pull this stunt.
