Bad news in two places today

Makes you wonder what is up.:sad:
Was talking with a friend in Oregon today. She was telling me about her best friend's son-in-law.
Apparently last week, he barricaded himself in his house and hanged himself.
Apparently he was on Zoloft for severe depression, but the insurance was through his wife's work and she changed jobs. Is now presently in the waiting period before her insurance takes effect. They couldn't afford the cost of the Zoloft, so he has been off of it for 6 weeks.:(
His wife knew he had been depressed, but had no idea it was this bad. His family is completely devastated. He had no other reason to do this.
Then I found out tonight that another friend's nephew shot and killed his girlfriend and then killed himself. Nobody knows why.:(
Very very sad for all the families involved.

Stopping Zoloft (and other antidepressants) can be worse than not having taken it - many people go through a awful withdrawal - it needs to be tapered down slowly.

I didn't know any of these people personally--just vicariously.
The boy and his girlfriend just happened today--apparently his mom was in Dallas as of early evening and didn't even know as of my last contact with their cousin.
I think that violence just begets violence.
It steals our hope for a better world.

If you can't financial survive...lay down and die...just don't bother the RepCons...My view of Republicans is similar to animals. In fact some animals actually deal better socially than this administration. What really burns me is that this administration acts like they didn't know this would happen..sin of omission in my opinion.

6. I blame almost everything on the Pubs too, but not this one.

I blame the Businesses and the Insuramce Companies! I can't even rememberwhen there wasn't a 3 month waiting period for insurance to cover a new employee. ITHInk it wasn't that way when I got my first job in 1961, but I really think it changed not long after that!

I don't know if there was some State service your friends could have contacted or not. I do recalla lady I worked with back in the mid 70'ssayingshe knew she wasn't going to have any ins. until her 90 day probation was complete, but the only ones she was worried about were he two kids, and she was simply going to rely on "emergency rooms HAVE to treat you, even if you can't pay" policy.

Noone has ever been able to explain why ins cos do this, but it causes many, many problems!
