The smell of Death on the sand
will surely come to the olfactory attention
of the Ostrich

Taking in faith that the Ostrich

she forgets

the things

outside.

and the wings that never worked, anyway..

are helpless to work with legs and feet that hold no purchase.

Never mind that it could be the green slime of the smashed
camel spider squashed by the soldiers boot or armored vehicle
as it scurries for shade.
The red is the scream stopped in mid air forever to be heard
centuries from now.......

it does not torture

It is the biggest bird

so cannot fly from danger

It runs, faster than a man

dodging all the bushes

It likes to run over sand
