And they both went to considerable lengths to hide this fact in their political portfolios. Hitler's real name was Schicklegruber or something, and I heard he re wrote family history, but the Nazis discovered his heritage and covered it up, realizing it would ruin his career as a Jew hater.

Now Georgey Allen finds out about his Jewish heritage and goes all Jimmy Swaggart on us like it was a sin or something. And you can bet your ass that Allen has hidden this for years for political reasons, seeing as how much of his base secretly hates jews and catholics or anyone non republican racist.

I wonder if the basest of his base will turn on him knowing that he's Jewish? Some of them do think that way.

As an atheist, I could give a damn about what religion my ancestors were in the great scheme of things. It really messes with your head when you dwell on such shit.

The old canard about Hitler's Jewish heritage isn't taken seriously by reputable historians. As the Holocaust History Project puts it:

"There are some rumors hinting that Hitler's grandfather was Jewish. Few, if any, of the reputable historians on the Holocaust believe that this is so. Also, Hitler's father, Alois, was born illegitimate (and used his mother's surname Shickelgruber until he was able to establish the right to the Hitler name), another aspect of his ancestry Hitler would have wanted to hide. By the time Adolf was born, Alois was legally a Hitler, so Adolf was never a Shickelgruber.

George Allen is still an asshole, though. Some things never change.

3. I think the boring, dead end trail of history is inconclusive -

no one knows who Hitler's paternal grandfather was. He may have been Jewish, but probably was not. Hitler himself did not know - and was worried enough to have it thoroughly investigated, but never got a conclusive answer (that we know about).
