The Forest=Lawbreaking Congress, The Trees=Torture Talk
Edited on Thu Sep-21-06 07:32 PM by texpatriot2004
It seems to me that we can't see the forest for the trees. Maybe it's the Corporate Media mostly but nonetheless, there is all this discussion about what is our stance on torture? Are we pro-torture in America? Well, what kind of torture do we condone? Is it okay to torture another human being? Well the rules say no, but we can if we want? And, BTW, that word is being used like it's water. "Torture" is being used like we are talking about, well, what would it be called in legal terms...assault and battery? What's the least harmful, serious thing you can do to another human being in legal terms, criminally speaking? Currently people are all a-buzz referring to "torture" like that. You know what I mean?

It's sickening. It's stupid. America doesn't condone torture and it certainly doesn't advocate it or legalize it...not until this evil regime and it's followers.

Seriously, the United States Congress, the Cover-Up Congress, the Rubber-Stamp, Do-Nothing Congress led by the Corrupt GOP is/has broken the law. It's LAWBREAKING! It's not changing the law.

And all the while, in their usual Modus Operandi, there is all this philosophical discussion, this debate, this political parsing about "torture" as if it were a conversation about the weather.

How utterly absurd and repulsive!

5. We're down to one constitutional check.
A judiciary, partly compromised by radicals pushed through, to protect and defend the constitution. That's all we have left.
