Distractions, Wedge Issues, Sparkly Objects...
The GOP owes Chavez big time, and I'm not talking about the standard fruit basket or even season tickets to the Lakers. We are all practically at each others throats over this non-issue.
THERE'S A FLEET OF SHIPS LEAVING NORFOLK FOR IRAN, AND ALL ANYONE SEEMS TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT IS SOMEONE CALLING AN ASSHOLE THE DEVIL! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

1. not exactly
talking about things that interest me rejuvenates my spirit for the real debate. let this pass it's natural course and stay well-versed on the stuff we're missing. you can educate the rest of us in a couple of days.

3. How many scolding threads on this are we going to have today?
Why can't people talk about what they are interested in on message board threads? Really, this is getting ridiculous.

4. Maybe he's suggesting that WAR is a little higher...
...on the political concerns food chain..?

Personally, I agree with him. Chavez's remarks, while spot on, have had their 15 minutes.

5. So he and you don't have to talk about it, but if anyone is still
interested, why can't they? In fact some people may be talking about it for the first time, if they came onto DU and wanted to talk about it, why shouldn't they just because other people have been.

These things all ride out anyway. The scolding threads even add to it.

6. hehe... IMO
and for whatever it's worth, the chavez issue wouldn't be as big of a deal on this message board if his detractors had come up with something new or factual. instead, my curiosity is piqued as flies stick to flypaper - aka the usual suspects pop up and begin to spew slander.

setting aside the tin-foil hat and speculation about paid shills, i got depressed this time around thinking about how hard it is to share the truth among our own.

10. I am SO sorry! Really.
It's not a sexist thing. It's just that I have carpal and "he" is easier to roll off than "he/she" or somthing else.

11. I usually keep avatars off...
Posting from work is dicey enough without displaying pictures of attractive young women.

12. Okay, that was good. All is well. I would change my name to something more
obviously feminine, but it's taken me almost 3 years to get just over 500 posts. :*

14. Why, Mr. Durden I do declare.
LOL...taken. It wouldn't matter if I was takable anyway, since your other personality would end up ignoring me after the taking.

But, we do agree.

16. Why I am not hearing more about economy
I am not hearing much about bread and butter issues that democrats are dominate in and that will resonate with voters. I think its the economy stupid is still a winning campaign slogan for us.

It's an issue we can run with, and we're good at it. Throwing a lot of weight behind exposing the lies of this Administration regarding the economy, poverty levels, jobless rates, etc. isn't a bad idea, either. :hi:
