Friday night state-by-state, city-by-city gas price check in
Los Angeles -- about $2.89 average

I've heard it is a lot cheaper in the swing states and areas.
Let's see if that is true. Identify your state and area and what you think the average gas price is.

24. I paid $2.72 at Costco the other day
that is the lowest price I have seen in months.

People in California are getting screwed. Typical station around here (not Costco) is $2.99 a gallon for the cheap stuff. Big deal huh?

SE Wisconsin is considerably more expensive than the rest of the state, due to the type of reformulated gas used.

22. $2.15 in southeast Texas
At least, that's what it was at the place I filled up yesterday. One station in Beaumont had it at $1.94, which is the first I've seen it under $2 in at least over a year, but that one's still an anomaly. It's been falling like crazy over the last month or so; so fast it definitely seems fishy.

Also ask people to note the gallon values from other pumps when they fill up. Some clever DUer (I forget who) mentioned this as a good way to track consumer spending power -- e.g. if people are putting their last $3 into the tank to make it home, you know things are bad.
