Did the French blow Rove's October Surprise
on purpose?

I bet BushCo would much rather have kept Osama on ice for just a little bit longer, so they could set up a new hidey hole for Flyboy to pull him out of but the French let the cat out of the bag.

Viva la France!

10. The Bush Spin is
OBL shows up on the CNN with a bunch of special forces bullets in him on Nov 3.

The sheep go crazy and elect more lunatics.

Two weeks later the White House admits that they actually dug him up out of a shallow grave, and had some grunts take target practice with his corpse. "We never claimed that we killed him, only that we shot him..ya know.."

Wolfe asked Bush if he knew that OBL was in Pakistan, would he go in and capture or kill him, even though he didn't have permission to cross the border.

Bush said, "Absolutely!"

Wolfe continued with, "You would?"

Bush..."Absolutely!" "Absolutely!"

It immediately gave me the impression it had been rehearsed. Happened too fast and Bush stood there like he was waiting to jump in with another "Absolutely!"

They really aren't very good at theatrics, you know?

Translation of Funeral Article in Egyptian Paper:
al-Wafd, Wednesday, December 26, 2001 Vol 15 No 4633

News of Bin Laden's Death
and Funeral 10 days ago

Islamabad -
A prominent official in the Afghan Taleban movement announced yesterday the death of Osama bin Laden, the chief of al-Qa'da organization, stating that binLaden suffered serious complications in the lungs and died a natural and quiet death. The official, who asked to remain anonymous, stated to The Observer of Pakistan that he had himself attended the funeral of bin Laden and saw his face prior to burial in Tora Bora 10 days ago. He mentioned that 30 of al-Qa'da fighters attended the burial as well as members of his family and some friends from the Taleban. In the farewell ceremony to his final rest guns were fired in the air. The official stated that it is difficult to pinpoint the burial location of bin Laden because according to the Wahhabi tradition no mark is left by the grave. He stressed that it is unlikely that the American forces would ever uncover any traces of bin Laden.

29. I wonder if the Tora-Bora midnight airlift of AQ/Taliban fighters
to Pakistan might not have been related to this? Once OBL is demised, did the government decide to send OBL's remaining forces home, so they could refocus their attention on Iraq?

If this story is true.....this administration has some serious explaining to do...why didn't they report this at the time...and why did they allow suspect videos of OBL to influence domestic politics? They have gotten a lot of milage out of Osama, the MiddleEast boogieman.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Osama bin Laden is dead. At least according to Saudi intelligence sources cited by a French newspaper, which in turn claims to have obtained a document leaked to them by French counter-intelligence services.

11. Great Minds...
A week ago I read where Rove had promised an "October Surprise"...and methinks this might have come out at the wrong time. A tip-off is how this came out on a Friday night/Saturday morning...the typical time for a document dump. The chattering class have already checked out for the weekend (and are barely sober) and really won't get a crack at this story until Sunday Morning or well into Monday. There's also no Rushbo or O'Reilly to jump on the spin, either. Thus I'm wondering...

I'm still trying to play the chess game of what a "bin Laden" death would mean. It surely won't affect the situation in Iraq and I still won't be able to bring a bottle of Aquafina on my next plane flight. Has this regime spent all its "capital" with lies and deceptions that the scepticism about what is reported trumps any political benefit this regime tries to gain. A lot of it is up to Democrats...stay on point that this country is a mess and bin Laden isn't the cause, the Repugnicans are.

31. You beat me - here is my blog post from myspace I was going to post here

So, Did France just blow the White House October Surprise: Osma Dead???

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060923/ap_on_re_mi_ea/france_bin_laden_report;_ylt=AvRSTpezAmGZr2x3wr47NW2s0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTA3OTB1amhuBHNlYwNtdHM-

Hmmmmmmmmm.

Reports (unconfirmed, as stated in the article) our that Bin Laden is dead of typhoid.

Leaked in French documents....

Now, one can imagine that, if indeed, this is the case, this would be the PERFECT October Surprise for the Republicans. Killing Bin Laden - no doubt a trumped up story about how our brave forces scoured the caves and fought a valiant fight, killing many 'insurgents'....

But....If France is indeed, correct, it would not be very much for the White House to brag about that he died of natural causes before they caught him, and they played no role in his death. Steals their thunder. Makes them look pretty weak.....

Chirac was 'surprised' by the leak. Maybe. Or, perhaps. Just perhaps, this is a huge flip off to the White House, and a deliberate move to squash their October Surprise to manipulate the elections before it began.

If that is the case, sincere thanks to the leaker!!!

Surreal.

If Osma is indeed dead, they were planning a huge all-out spectacle about how they got 'em'....

It would be on the news 24 hours for the week or two preceeding the elections. Think about it. Do you think they would have let this pass, and just let him die of natural causes? You have to be kidding me.

If they killed him and tracked him down, that would have been a victory But, this just humiliates em.

THANK YOU FRANCE

But, not where he is...

The new spin is that he is 'sick'. But, if they have people telling them his health condition, wouldn't they be talking to people who knows who treat him, wouldn't there be a thread there to get to the man himself...

He's dead. No. He isn't dead. Just VERY sick.

Surreal.

I say he is dead and they are trying to salvage his life to pull him out for the October Surprise...

Well. At least, it has been leaked that he is dead. Put severe questions around how it happened, even if they still try to despertely make up some story and use his corpse for their re-election.

Musharaf flapping his trap and Chavez's performance at the US, I would say the world is ganging up on poor ol' Bush & Co.

50. I can see the CNN report now, with Blitz all atwitter
With that hypnotic monotone that Blitzer maintains, to lull you into a nice, sound propaganda slumber, as he prattles on incessantly, with his vacant pigeyed stare and that stupid half baked beard...

"So what you're saying General, is that Bush, while passing over Pakistan in Air Force One, spotted Bin Laden HIDING IN HIS UNMARKED GRAVE, ripped the top off the coffin and delivered the final shot into that most evil man of our time, other than Saddam of course with his WMD, and shot Bin Laden Between the eyes BEFORE any of his Secret Service men could leap in to protect him from the potential danger of a really bad cold.

There you have it folks, Bin Laden Dispatched by Bush himself, with Pearl Handled Revolvers.. caught and killed in his OWN GRAVE, I'm sure you can agree that the irony is not something that will be lost on the American people, who have longed for this day.

In case you're just tuning in, President Bush has Killed and CAPTURED Bin Laden himself, both Dead AND ALIVE, as verified for the most part by the FRENCH Press."

When in doubt of the news, just MAKE IT UP, rinse, repeat...

58. Oh, that is so sweet.
The cheese eating surrender monkeys have taken down the chimpster again! Whoo hoo!! Couldn't have happened to a more deserving bunch of assholes. Thing is, I've believed he's been dead and on deep freeze for a hell of a lot longer than that and I think it was his kidneys that did him in, not typhoid. Ah, but those are just details. So much for the Halloween OBL fearsicle to get the masses to vote Republican. Oh, what will they do???!!!!

Sorry, I don't care to be appropriately reverent. Not a one of the players in this stupid little drama deserve it.

56. The big news isn't that OBL is dead. It's that he ESCAPED JUSTICE.
OBL got away. That's what I'm focused on. If he's dead, then he never paid for his role in killing almost 2,800 of our citizens, needless to mention Little Boots' exploitation of September 11, 2001, which has now led to as many and more deaths of our troops, and we can't even really count how many are permanently messed up and maimed for life.

Nor will Osama ever pay for those ridiculous videotapes which fooled enough people into voting for bush. Those people just didn't get how they were being duped. Osama loved/loves the GOP, it's the best recruiting tool he's ever had.

If you're really dead, Osama, may what's left of your rotten soul feel throughout eternity the anguish you have caused others.

61. No, they are making it happen for him. This is probably from a cia leak.
Spread a rumor Osama is dead. Osama feels compelled to produce a tape to prove he's alive.

Boom...October surprise.

injured, lost left side motor control, died, came back, died, came back, pneumonia, etc etc....

No offense, but even I could catch this clown, let alone the US military, the only reason we havent caught the joker is because they don't want him...

no boogyman, no elections, no support.

oh and maybe some offense.

64. They want him to put out a tape to prove he's alive.
Just like 2004. They were saying all the dialysis stuff and the injury stuff before the election in 2004. Then he produces this tape...they release it right before the elections. I think this is going to be the same thing.

80. Most People....
here maybe.

We know if Osama was making tapes he would be putting out video, I mean even Zawahiri puts out video, face of the enemy etc.

You'd also think watching MSM that the last 20 Bin Laden Audio's were, in fact Video. They don't seem to stress very much that they are in fact just audio tapes. I have even seen people here surprised they are audio tapes.

Mr. Laden has been dead for years me thinks.

71. I always said we had him in a beer cooler in the basement of Cheney's
hunting lodge. Lol.

Actually, this makes sense. We never would have killed him, for the same reason we'll never overturn roe-v-wade or pass a gay marriage amendment: It's too good a card to ever play. It's only good as long as it's held. It brings the masses to the TV and the republican rallys.

I'll bet it's really the way it happened, and the french intelligence really is swift enough to get the dirt.

I think this is entirely as it looks.

I think it makes Bushco look weak: The guy escaped the most powerful regime in the world and died of natural causes.

I think this is legit and if anything, it tips in our favor: Mr. and Mrs. redneck feel safe enough to stay home for the election(s).
