The 2006 "Majority Chairman" election.
Edited on Sat Sep-23-06 03:10 PM by skids
From now on, I will only refer to the 2006 elections as the Majority Chairman elections, to signify what the biggest stakes are.

You remember how you cheered when Conyers tackled the issues head on, and then couldn't subpoena anyone, and all Sensenbrenner's stunts.

And you saw how last week a reprehensible bill got defeated once, then brought back up and voted on again as soon as a few people had to leave the room for a bit.

Multiply that by 250. That's about how many committees there are. 250 chairs that go to the majority party in congress.

Major primaries are over. So now you decide: 250 backstabbing, trick playing, rule bending, tyrannical Sensenbrenners or 250 truth-seeking, justice dealing, corruption squashing Conyerses. You either vote for one or the other. If you stay home, you still have made a choice. So even if you are unlucky and your Dem is a DLC turd, vote anyway.

Who's with me?

2. I am soooooooooooo with you on this!!!
It's all about the chairmanships, everyone. FOCUS-FOCUS-FOCUS!!!! Without at least one of the houses, and we really need both, we may as well hang it up.

Yes, I'd love to see my state win statewide elections, but my overriding concern is we take the Hill and don't give tha @sshole a damn inch!!
