62. Megadittos! This is the question that Clinton SAID THEY NEVER ASK
and they still won't ask it . . .

'Course, no one could ask Bush if he'd done cocaine or if his girlfriend ever had an abortion either.

Funny how that works.

3. We need another poll:
"Do you think Congress is responsible for hamstringing Clinton and preventing him from using full resources to kill Osama?"

Yeah, as if that question is ever going to see the light of day on the MSM. :eyes:

I can deal with that. I wonder when the fucking whining cowards in the fake media will ask the real questions of the CURRENT administration? Losers.

7. What a dumb fucking question.
It's like asking, "Are you glad 9/11 happened?"

If the question was "Did Clinton try his best to get bin Laden under the circumstances?" then it would be a fairer question.

16. Well, cut the media a little slack.
They're working very hard to blame Clinton for 9/11 and keep all blame off of the guy who was actually in the Oval Office. It's not a very easy job, you know.

10. The farther this story spreads, the less likely Pox "news" will be able to
indulge in any "creative editing" to leave important details or quotes out of Clinton's counterattack. Too many people know what happened. And also, therefore, too many people also hear his side of it, first undoubtedly THE FIRST TIME IN THEIR LIVES. NEVER has he had the opportunity to step up and debunk the crap that's been spread about him NONSTOP, from EVERY frickin' quarter out there among the wrong wing's legions of media mouthpieces/echo chambers. If he'd had a media venue before this, or if he'd stood up and demanded one before this, this pack of lies about him would not have been able to gain the momentum it has. EVERYBODY knows and can repeat that slanderous blather - "but they offered him bin Laden twice" - my knuckldragger friend said this to me recently - shit, it was like listening to coultergeist. There's NEVER been any rebuttal. NEVER. And there SHOULD be one, EVERY FRICKIN' TIME THIS SHIT IS SPEWED - WHEREVER and WHENEVER IT HAPPENS. EVERY TIME.

I'm sorry he's only stepped up now. Whatthefuck took him so long? What was he waiting for? For it to go away? For people to simply grow up and somehow "see the light"? You'll wait til the next millennium for that and it STILL won't happen. In one respect, it's Clinton's own fault that these lies have been allowed to stand for so long, and to sink into the public consciousness as deeply as they have, and thereby become perceived, in effect, as fact. I wish to God he'd have stepped up earlier, like maybe while the 9/11 Commission was still investigating - like, immediately after they debriefed him. Even earlier than that, frankly. With his powers of persuasion and command of language, the effectiveness of his presentation, and the ease he enjoys as the NEW Great Communicator, he could have deflected a LOT of the blame that was allowed to sink in beyond the barriers of the "backwash." He could have stanched the flow. Don't know why he preferred to just sit it out and watch the storm rage - and his reputation trashed nonstop. People need to hear the truth rather than the bush-serving spin. They need to hear what really happened - FROM the guy it happened to.

23. 50/50 - not bad for a country
spoon-fed half a decade of right-wing lies by American 'journalism', countered only by a left-wing too afraid to voice the well-documented truth.

If progressives would speak out and fight about who DID and who DIDN'T work to protect America from terrorists, it would be 80% rational Americans versus 20% lying backwash regarding Bill Clinton's many actions against terrorism, compared to Republicans before Bush and BushCo itself. There would be only pathologically dishonest Republicans and mainstream journalists left promoting and sanctifying their intentionally dishonest version of recent history.

36. 52% Yes, Clinton did enough.
This is going to be a popularity contest, because the question is slanted to get more "No" answers. Obviously, the word "enough" leaves it clear that if he had done enough, he would have gotten bin Laden. But, I'm confidant that he did ALL that he could do given the idiotic resistance that he got from Republicans. I even remember reading that the military wouldn't go out on a limb for Clinton because they were pro-Right.

At some point, we need to remind them that their single purpose to destroy Clinton, also created the situation that left us vulnerable to our enemies. If we don't drive this point home, the Republicans will continue campaigning to become an undefeatible party, without any other purpose but to weaken its opposition and financially reward its supporters.

When they want to poll about the evil bastard in office, I'll join in.

Clinton's day is done.

Why do people use AOL? I have never understood why people needed to have their internet experience framed through their expensive little prism.

88. Did the freepers do everything in their power to thwart BC'efforts?
to stop terrorism and capture OBL should be the question. They hurt the war on terrorism before W even was forced to act.

http://articles.news.aol.com/news/_a/bill-clinton-angrily-defends-bin-laden/20060923131109990001

Now maybe that's just as many letters as they're allowed to put in a link, but it seems awfully 'convienent' that you are seeing that bill clinton is defending bin laden when you first go over to aol.

98. God I hate polls like this one. There's no good answer.
It reduces complex issues to an overly-simplistic black/white response and neither answer makes any real sense. BC said himself he didn't do enough...so if we answer 'yes' we're disagreeing with him;
if we say 'no' we augment the stupid fucking neocon claims. It's a lose-lose situation.

Sometimes, you just gotta play the game.

"Winning" these days is on such narrow, irrelevant issues as these.
