By Gary Gentile, AP Business Writer
LOS ANGELES — The home-video division of Twentieth Century Fox said Tuesday it will acquire as many as a dozen family-friendly movies a year and market them under the FoxFaith banner.
With budgets of less than $5 million each, the films will be aimed at the same Christian audiences that helped boost box-office receipts for such films as The Passion of the Christ and The Chronicles of Narnia.

"All of this programming is entertainment first. We're not in the business of proselytizing or preaching," he said.

About half of the films will be distributed theatrically through a third-party company under a deal with two large theater chains, AMC Theatres and Carmike Cinemas. The rest will go directly to DVD.

The studio said last year it was forming the FoxFaith unit as part of a broader effort to reach audiences seeking family friendly films. Tuesday's announcement brought specific details.

I had missed this on Sept 19th when it was released. I don't know if anyone posted it here. It's too old for the LBN thread.

1. Fox Films
They have to try to make up the money they are loosing on FOX News somehow. It certainly is a shame that the republicans are trying to play off the religion of people in this country.

People like farwell, robertson and dobson have stolen from the poor for years and played on their fears. If they weren't crooks how come they are dripping in money, rings on their fingers, all kinds of cars, houses, TV network and all kinds of business. If they were collecting the money for the poor how come THEY have so much of it and have not given it to the poor.

5. The Repukes are counting on the evangelicals so it's more
mixing of religion and politics. They'll unify under hate for gays and Muslims.

the company that owns FoxFaith too.

I have a problem with news channels being religiously biased like this.

I know we all don't like fox for it's political/religious bias, but since half of america does watch them, this is a further move toward the christian taliban right from tv news. They're doing to to secure their base further. Imagine what that base could vote in after they get used to seeing "christian" movies in theatres.

They may start protesting about non-christian movies.

I don't want Jesus in the theatres on a regular bases, I would like him to go back to the Churches. That tv station is now spreading way more christian propaganda to control people than it already was.
