1. I'm watching it now
on Fopx News Sunday. I normally do not watch this show, but saw Clinton was on when I was flipping through. It is better than I thought it would be.

2. Good thing he was wearing brown pants.
Nice to hear that panel basically call him a liar afterward too. Who could have seen that coming?

7. Here I am...
OK this is the friendly beast's first post. Wanted to start my own topic but couldn't figure out how to do that. Maybe I need to send someone money. Well 5hit can we grant me a pass on that one?

Shucks 25 years ago I helped salvage over two hundred grand from going into the California GOP. It's a long story.

In fact I got a great story (so he thinks) about a CREEPY fundraiser in GOP politics named Gary Jarmin. If anyone wants the inside dope on this dope feel free to contact me. Or just show me how to write a new topic.

Sorry to have temporarily hijacked this one.

The Beast.

OK I'll bite: Initials GWB? WTF???

OK now I get it! Say that's funny!!!

Wasn't intentional though. Could it be a result of divine providence? Perhaps.

OK am gonna try and post to that Jarmin topic again but lemme tell ya if I can't you are missing some interesting INSIDE dope on that dickhead. Tried to post there but failed. Will try one more time.

Tell ya though it kinda pisses me off that a former carpetbagger who ripped off the GOP for mucho payolla (yours truly) is having trouble starting a post here.

Seems like I should get some frequent flyer miles just for my brave deeds. That and a hero's welcome.

No good deed goes unrewarded I suppose.

15. More on Jarmin...
Edited on Sun Sep-24-06 11:28 AM by Greatwildbeast
Naw, I can't post to that Jarmin thread NOR start my own topic because this forum has decided I'm a green pea and won't give me the privilege to post my stuff.

So instead of getting really really pissed (you don't want that) will hijack this thread AGAIN and state what I know about that bastard Gary Jarmin (GOT A Problem w/that? I don't think so):

I met the punk in person back in 1980. He had just started some crap called "Christians For Reagan" through his associates in San Diego. I however met him in San Fran while he was banging my boss, a GOP sychophant who then bore a striking resemblance to today's Floridian Senate nominee Katherine Harris. Since my boss is probably dead after all these years and doesn't show up on a search i will leave her name out of it.

In 1980 Gary Jarmin was running for some State Senate seat in CA. Can't quite remember the specifics. Might even have been the Assembly. Pretty sure he lost. Didn't learn he was a Moonie until just the other day. That sure fits though...

Anyway, he is the creepster's CREEP. Even SMELLS bad. My guess is that his nasty smell and quadruple chin has kept him from running for public office over the years. Not real people friendly in person. Especially with that SMELL!! Creepy creepy creepy.

So instead he runs scam enterprises that F with the elderly.

That's how I met him in 1980: The company owner I worked for had two boiler room operations sticking it to GOP seniors nite (and sometimes day). I was major telephone annoyance to these GOP'ers myself four hours a nite. Took 'em for over two hundred grand over a period of time. None of it went to any GOP cause.

Again, I should get a f'king hero's welcome here but no one gives a 5hit...

My guess is that Jarmin is STILL doing a lot of that crap to this day. Part of his ill gotten gains likely does go to the GOP but the rest lines his wallet.

So long as the creep only lines his pockets with elderly GOP donations I'm OK with that. But my guess is that a lot of his ill gotten gains funds the Swiftboat types and stuff.

Were talking major scare tactics folks. A Karl Rovish training center and summer camp.

I know.

I was there.

16. Jarmin's corruption (a real bottom-feeder) is pretty well-known here.
Edited on Sun Sep-24-06 11:46 AM by TahitiNut
First, some 'housekeeping' ...
(1) It's very well understood on DU that newly-registered users are expected to participate in existing discussions (threads) before initiating their own discussions (threads). This (mutual) 'familiarization' time is not excessive ... hardly more than a couple of handfuls of posts.
(2) The thread to which I pointed is archived, having been discussed in 2004, over two years ago. Jarmin has been an active reichbot maggot for over 28 years, so it's not surprising that many DUers would be aware of his slimey role in the money-laundering operation that's operating in the bilges of the GOP ship of state hegemony. It's second nature on DU to know that archived threads and locked cannot be posted against. It's part of the 'familiarization' EVERYONE goes through.

Next, rarely is anyone afforded a "hero's welcome" on DU unless their arrival is accompanied by the prearranged trumpets of a DU adminstration announcement. Elizabeth Edwards and Chris Heinz (Kerry) are two of the very few who come to mind.

Here're a couple of photos of Jarmin ... he's not exactly a state secret.

Anyone who's gotten the plaudits from Jesse Helms and Phil Crane like Jarmin has gotten is undoubtedly of an equal level of corruption (or worse) than Jack Abramoff. He's a bag man for the GOP organized crim syndicate.

17. GOP leaders who promote "moral decency"
Angrydem, Is that a request for more dope on the creep? See below:

...(Well thanks for even just THAT lukewarm welcome Tahitnut. Chilly if ya ask me)...

But back 2 Jarmin:

Somehow it seems to fit that he's a Moonie. Tell ya, upon meeting him it'll change your thoughts on Christianity: He smells like the devil. Seriously. And it wasn't just the rank Pooh Sea juice coming off both him and my former sychophant GOP lamplighter boss either. You know, the Katherine Harris type.

Something similar about most GOP women: They dress up stylishly, act sweet and warm but all with kind of a 1950's type personality & clothing motif. Privately they are whiners who cry about lack of prayer in school "killed babies" etc. But very friendly spirits in public. I could pick one up easy. They are EASY in fact. Usually they live off of their father's money or, like my former boss, the husband she nagged to an early grave.

But Jarmin? HE IS EVIL folks! Leaves a drift of FOUL smoke behind him in his wake. Not kidding!!! Dead serious.

However something tells me I'm digressing or in violation of some prissy moral conduct/code etc related to Demo-underground usage policy.

Anyway: Jarmin was wining and dining my boss in 1980 in an effort to have direct access to her GOP political SUCKERlist*. He must have gotten it too. Later she (my boss) published a whole front page ad sponsoring him (Jarmin) and then closed down our Northern California office. The front page heading made me sick to my stomach: "Christians For Reagan" it said. Then 1981 came around, Dutch was inaugurated and we closed down. I then had to go find my first REAL JOB...

None of the money we raised went to any GOP related causes.

That's probably all i should say publicly for now.

Something tells me Tahitinut thinks I'm a spy and this is why he/she's acting about as warm as an iceberg. Well shucks, i don't trust YOU either (lol)

*Sure wished i'd save all them names and mastercard numbers. STILL kickin myself for that all these years.

18. No. It was a request for more info on Clinton vs. Wallace...
the topic of this thread...which I have now found.

And TahitiNut raises a good point. It's rather jarring (and confusing) to have two conversations going on in the same thread. DU's a refreshing change from most Internet discussion boards in that regard.

Welcome to DU. Eventually you'll reach the number of posts needed to start your own thread. That's another refreshing aspect of DU -- you have to learn the "lay of the land" before putting yourself out there.

23. "Scams" and "frauds" and "spies," oh my!
Edited on Sun Sep-24-06 07:19 PM by Sparkly
Interesting posts and sigline.

Sorry if you didn't get the "hero's welcome" you expected, for whatever "carpetbagging" you did. If you're talking about illegally diverting or otherwise misappropriating campaign donations, I *hope* the response wouldn't be a warm one.

On Moonies or others changing "thoughts on Christianity," I think most are quite clear in their views of Christianity, and their various views of various individuals who may call themselves Christians.

"Pooh Sea juice?" Please explain.

On GOP women, I think your generalities about Republican women are neither factual nor helpful.

On DU "prissy moral conduct/code etc.," the rules are easy to find, and written clearly.

Oh -- and welcome to DU.

24. GOP foggy mountain breakdown...
Edited on Sun Sep-24-06 09:01 PM by Greatwildbeast
Well that kinda figures, misappropriations of the opponent's funds sure sounds like the classic political dirty pool. Mind you mine wasn't an intentional scam: Just needed a JOB (any work at all) in 1978. The only thing i could find and feel comfortable with doing at that time was this scam that essentially scooped up dough from registered Republicans but none of it went to the party OR even a single candidate.

So it was a "Robin Hood" type work although the people who started the fraud probably didn't see it that way. THEY were very Conservative and hung out with jerks like retired General, (what's his name?) Singlaub i think. Fascist creeps who exploit the elderly. However most of these seniors I hoodwinked had A LOT OF MONEY! I feel proud to have kept it out of Phil Crane, George Deukmajian's and various other nasty politicos including even Ronald Reagan.

With the two hundred grand (roughly) that i prevented from going to the CA GOP and RNC I may have single handedly prevented a whole village (somewhere) from being napalmed. Either that or a whole village from being handcuffed and beaten by Guatemalan torture squads.

I'm not a person to live in the fine tuned P/C world and will sometimes be at odds with certain Demos who are. My opinions on GOP women are quite blunt. Whether you are comfortable with them or not does nothing to diminish what I feel is the accuracy of these thoughts. As to whether they are "Helpful"? This is not my concern. I'm not running for public office and won't be concerned with packaging the truth for selective consumption. Plus i just don't care.

But your concern about "carpetbagging" or dirty tricks is warranted.

When even a good hearted Progressive starts dwelving into the realm of Donald Segrettian activity it can quickly tarnish the spirit. Even for the Higher Cause. One can become the enemy simply through association with his methods. Still a little Abbie Hoffman defensive maneuvers can be helpful if also extremely humorous.

Mind you I never would have undertaken such a scam except out of sheer necessity: Prevented personal starvation and homelessness. However since being thrust into a position "behind enemy lines" through no fault of my own I can assure you the experience was very interesting. And again, prevented a very large sum of money from getting into the coffers of real GOP politicos.

Who wants to defend civil liberties through dirty tricks or (even) the occasional violence? I surely don't. However it is THOSE type in the GOP who DO THOSE THINGS that we are at odds with. I assure you that they have absolutely no qualms about destroying everything Democratic through any means possible. They would sell out their own mother's grave for a few greasy bucks or a small promotion up the ladder in the GOP heiarchy.

So anyone who wants to derail their train is OK with me. Legal or illegal methods is all fine with me too. Just so long as people don't get physically hurt or another legitimate cause gets sullied in the effort.

I won't be joining those people who risk their freedom to derail the fascist machine through extra-legal means. Am getting too old for that 5hit. But maybe we need some well disciplined people who DO feel inclined to do those things.

Before it is too late that is.
