How the FUCK does torturing someone keep ANY of us safer?
Edited on Sun Sep-24-06 06:43 PM by tjwash
What the fuck? Am I missing something here?

They keep trying to spin this to the American people as keeping us safer, yet they have missed the very obvious point that if you torture a single person that they are going to hate you forever. And it's not just them that will hate you and all you represent; their children hell their entire FAMILY, all their relatives by marriage and probably everyone in their village and town will hate you as well.

They haven't fucking figured it out, that if you torture 1 person, you had better be prepared to receive a bitter seething hatred of at least 100 people in return?

And these will usually be people with nothing in return.

Sheez. This just going into a Senate debate is fucked up.

1. Same way killing people's families thwarts terrorism.
It makes no sense!! It just conjurs images in unthinking rightwingers' heads about "toughness" and "taking them on" and "strength" etc...

In actual effect, it's worse than nothing.

2. It has nothing to do with making anybody safe...
...it has everything to do with Bush attempting to insulate himself from having to answer for his crimes against humanity (torture) in case the democrats take over the congress this fall...

3. they just like to torture people. and they are liars.
of course it does not make us safer and it does not get them any information but they like it.

it was made illegal because it was immoral, civilized people knew this and thus agreed that is was a crime against humanity itself.

6. They get high on the power of smashing fingers, gouging out eyes,
and the like What kind of fuckers are running this country is the question. Bushitler is a serial killer related to BTK same class of person.

7. The idea is that they will get important information about big bad plots
from those guys. Apparently, they really haven't gotten anything of much use from anybody that they tortured. And, if they really needed
to torture somebody there are already procedures, such a presidential finding that would allow it anyway.
