What's Wrong With Calling Bu$h a Devil? (in response to....)

_ _ _ _ _

I say there isn't a damn thing wrong with it....and Jeff Cohen speaks for me on the issue as follows:

_ _ _ _ _

Conservatives were quick to lash out at Hugo Chavez for calling President Bush a "devil," but that's exactly what Rush Limbaugh was calling Democrats only a few years ago.

Across the U.S. political and media spectrum, there was wide agreement yesterday: Name-calling and personal attacks are bad for national and global dialogue. Prompting the unity were Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez' comments that President Bush was the devil incarnate, "El Diablo."

Among those exercised (and exorcized) about Chavez' name-calling were some of the loudest name-callers in American media today -- including Rush Limbaugh and other rightwing talk hosts. Limbaugh tried to equate Chavez' remarks with the alleged Bush-bashing that comes from top U.S. Democrats. In case you've forgotten, it was Limbaugh who ridiculed Chelsea Clinton, then 13, as the "White House dog."

It was Limbaugh in 2001 who routinely referred to Democratic leader Tom Daschle, literally, as "El Diablo." Along with "Devil in a Blue Dress" theme music, Limbaugh would carry on at length about how Daschle may well be Satan in soft-spoken disguise. Bellowed Limbaugh in July 2001: "Just yesterday, as Bush winged his way to Europe on a crucial mission to lead our allies into the 21st century...up pops 'El Diablo,' Tom Daschle, and his devilish deviltry, claiming that George Bush is incompetent." (Months later, Limbaugh started describing Daschle more as a traitor than a devil, who'd decided to "align himself with Iran, North Korea and Hussein.")

Also incensed by Chavez was MSNBC host and former GOP Congressman, Joe Scarborough - who last night played a lengthy excerpt of Limbaugh pontificating about the Chavez remarks. Somehow Scarborough couldn't dig up the tapes of Limbaugh declaring that Daschle was the devil.

10. All it would take is one billionaire who is a strong supporter...
...of "Air America Radio" to get AAR on FM in every big city in the US.

If anyone reading this knows a billionaire, please discuss the idea with him or her.

6. To people who like Jeff Cohen:
Please suggest Jeff Cohen to be a host of the TV news show called "The Real News."

The show should debut in a year. They are choosing hosts now and asking the public for suggestions.

The button to suggest a host.

12. Could someone tell me what is wrong with me
I liked Chavez's identifying of dubby. I find myself tending to like him and Ahmadinajad (sp) more than the knucklehead in chief. I feel embarassed for all Americans when that clown went before the UN and everytime he has gone before the world.
Maybe the peckerhead ought to learn how to coincide with the world and not start trouble.
dubco has brought it all on and made the world a less safe and sane place.

:silly:

...so Pig Boy is all upset over it. Who would've guessed it? Well, if it gets Pig Boy upset, I may have to start using "Devil" more often. I usually prefer using "Giggling Killer" to refer to "it" but, hell, I need the variety.

20. Nothing
Bush was completely outsmarted by Chavez at the U.N... Chavez was brilliant. His words achieved the precise goal he intended. By personally ridiculing, humiliating and hitting our president on the world stage, right between The Cross, Hugo Chavez has rendered any future attempt by our president to unseat him -- or assassinate him -- purely a personal vendetta.

By de-Christianizing our president, who has publicly stated many times that he believes he won both elections because it was God's Will that he be president and guide the world, Chavez painted our president as not only an anti-Christ but as the Great Demon himself. Millions upon millions of Christians around the world who daily await in fear the arrival of a well-dressed but serpent-tongued anti-Christ falsely claiming to be sent by God will lead the world to terrible destruction, now wonder if that person hasn't already arrived in the body of our president who has been caught repeatedly lying and has caused much pain and death. No doubt to counteract Chavez' stoning our president will probably make a spectacular public showing at a church this coming Sunday... perhaps with his Mom and Dad in attendance... and the Pastor, in his Sermon, will reassure our president that he continues to dwell in God's personal favor. No doubt Mr. Rove is already hard at work making all the arrangements as we speak...

Yes... Mr. Chavez was brilliant. His skillfully worded speech at the U.N. podium will make any future military move by our president and his VP against Venezuela appear driven solely by personal revenge and not by any false claims that "WMD", "terrorist haven" or "state-sponsored narcotic enterprise" justifies our country invading his. But although nothing will stop our president from spending more billions in his six-year covert attempt to undermind Chavez and acquire Venezuela's oil fields, the number of operatives now and later who will be assigned to our president's Plan V will be operating with two minds instead of one... their other mind will grow in doubt of the alleged threat our president claims Chavez and Venezuela pose to our national security... and we all know that just a single shred fo doubt can not only wreck but reverse the well made plans of mice...

27. Bush himself set the groundwork for this terminology
by blathering about "evil" and such, and filling his speeches with code words which are meaningful only to his bizarre moonbat "Christian" wacko literalist base.

What goes around, comes around. Enjoy the heat, Pretzel Boy.
