In real life. Not some tv crap from some tv moron. Someone in your personal world. Your "real" life.

2. With real life people I'm generally very interested to know why they

think the way they do. Sometimes I will try to change their mind, but not always, it depends on the particular subject. Conversation, listening really, in those cases seems even more important, because I want to understand my fellow man and what makes him tick. You never know, I might learn something. I've even had my mind changed abut very important political subjects by listening to someone with a radically different POV - the death penalty, and need to abolish it, in particular comes to mind.

Variety is the spice of life, even in personal philosophy methinks.

3. I am certainly bothered and troubled by people who cannot

rationally support what they believe. If you are mentally retarded and have taken on the beliefs of the influential people around you, then of course I will cut you some slack. However, if you have a normal IQ, I do expect you to be able to back up what you believe with rational facts and demonstrations. If you just spew the latest RW talking points straight off Fox News, then you're off my dance list.

I have responded to talking-point people with rational statements only to watch them simply say things louder, or repeat their talking points, or go off on a totally irrelevant tangent. This is, essentially, what television itself does, 24 hours a day. To see/hear people act out exactly what happens on TV is a frightening thing, and I feel it is nothing more than brainwashing.
