More specifically, what can Bill Clinton learn? That the bipartisan love-in he's been engaged in over the last several years has resulted in jack-squat.

After providing President Bush cover for his disastrous handling of Katrina, after trying to get himself adopted by George Bush, Sr., after giving Laura Bush the keynote slot at his Global Initiative Conference, after going along with Rupert Murdoch's fundraiser for Hillary -- after all that, he got exactly nothing.

3. I almost feel sorry for Bill Clinton.

The man is ultra-intelligent and he knows that this country is capable of great things if the two parties cooperate. But the people he has to deal with are so anti-intellectual, that they're not concerned about cooperation or taking this country to a higher level. In fact, they will resist it every step of the way because they like things the way they are and they don't want to share power. Bill Clinton is like my husband, that way. Can't believe that people are capable of doing terrible things to others just for their own self-interest. I know this, I can't wait to see the new cynical Bill Clinton.

2. That makes him loveable.

4. Seems to me he spoke very well for himself and his administration

in the interview. And he was obviously expecting the slam. The man doesn't owe Arianna Huffington, or any body for that matter, anything. He got raked over the coals for his personal behavior while in the office. Impeached, no less. I think that's enough bashing. He was a good President, domestically and internationally.

The bi-partisan love in you mention (I'm assuming his partnership with the elder Bush) has raised millions for relief efforts in the tsunami catastrophe. His choice of Laura Bush for the Global Initiative Conference seemed a calculated attempt to show that there are some things beyond partisan politics. It has raised, what, $7 billion to date? Give the guy a break. He doesn't have to carry the battle flag 24/7.

5. And who has done a better job as

president in your lifetime? Bill Clinton doesn't have to 'learn' anything, he's the brightest we've had or will have for a long time. As far as being bipartisan, that's good for the country. Too bad more politicians aren't then maybe the world would be less of a mess.

6. Arianna has the worst case of Clintonitis this side of Scaife

Given how bad and sometimes selfish her own political manuevers have been -- jumping into that fucking California recall campaign, for Christ's sake, helping the GOP just to get some face time -- I say she might zip it occasionally. She's really coming across as mean-spirited and obsessive with the Clinton-bashing.

7. But she has a valid point: Clinton's bipartisanship and going easy on

GW, when he could have reamed his ass on many occasions, hasn't won him any consideration.

I'm familiar with "the record" and it's far worse for the Bush Administration than Clinton suggested.
