Over at DailyKos I diaried on Molly's health status, and there has been quite an outpouring of love, best wishes, and prayers, as there has been here.

Renee in Ohio just started a "Light a Candle" page for Molly over at www.gratefulness.org, and I thought you might like to light a virtual candle for her:

I don't like to ask for recommends (especially since I don't post that often), but I'm asking for at least 5 to get it to the Greatest Page? That way more DU'ers that would like to participate may do so, and it won't matter too much if this post drops to the bottom real fast, as it inevitably will.

I found this on WorkingForChange. I'd read it before in one of her books. It's from when she got breast cancer the first time. Typical Molly. Full of fight but still with that great sense of humor.

The prospect of losing Molly Ivins to cancer is too much to bear. Leaving the punditry to the likes of George Will and Charles Krauthammer and David Broder would be hard cheese indeed for the news junkie. Because she finds the humanity in what she writes about, and makes us laugh in the process, she elevates a profession that is dominated by mediocrity and received ideas. She is, ultimately, about love -- though she would undoubtedly cringe at the sentiment.

Let's give Ivins' buddy and former Texas Gov. Richards the last word:

and thank EVERYONE for the recommends but especially for taking the time to Light a Candle for Molly.

When I first posted yesterday, there were only about 6 candles lit from 1 country.

There are now 413 candles from 16 countries!

One last little favor? Your candle only lasts for 48 hours. If you could bookmark that page (I have a shortcut on my desktop), and remember to visit it at least once a week?
