Did I just hear Arlen Spectre jump ship?
Edited on Mon Sep-25-06 12:59 PM by Texas Explorer
I don't pay alot of attention to Spectre, but I have the TV on CSPAN-2 and I wasn't really listening but something he said caught my ear. It sounded like he said that the NIE assessment of the situation in Iraq was of great concern to him and he takes it very seriously and that after the elections there is sure to be a harder look at what is happening in Iraq and that there would be more candid observations of the situation.

Is this just a campaign meme he produced on the spot or is he saying that he truly is concerned about the NIE assessment and is truly going to take a closer look?

Edited to include: BTW, there were a couple of other things he said that caught my ear considering the words were coming out of a pukes mouth, but I digress to others' more attentive than I have been during his presser.

1. Don't believe a thing he says; if you do, he'll likely change his
position. For years I tried to believe him, but it was hopeless. Talk about a flip-flopper!

13. Not even flip-flopping
it's his little appeasement technique of vocally standing up for progressive values, and then quietly voting against them. Works pretty well, actually.

5. If he does jump ship, it is only temporarily. He will jump right back in
as he has proven in the past.

12. Exactly. He'll take "a closer look" and then decide that Bush is right
in spite of all the evidence. Arlen takes a zigzaggy line very often, sort of like a magic bullet.

9. Don't be fooled. Spectre is Bush's #1 pawn.
Spectre is just a specter. In the end, he'll more than give Bush exactly what he wants.

Luckily KKKarl and George are always there with a life preserver and manage to get him back on-board.

21. Operative phrase: 'AFTER The Elections'
It's shorthand for 'I'm not going to touch this before the elections, and afterwards people will probably forget and we won't remind them.'

They're scared to death of this getting any coverage before November.
