1. Don't want to disturb those beautiful minds...
...with bad news. Just give the sheep some pictures of celebrities and they'll be happily asleep again in no time.

6. can we put this up on outdoor boards?
It's simple and to the point.

BTW, that story "My Life in Pictures" is about Annie Liebowitz. Interesting, for sure, but hardly something that should be on a front cover when lives and billions of dollars are gone and there's no plan and no end in sight.

Link to U.S. edition, so you can read more trivia:

18. The other thread is in General Discussion: Politics....
Some DUers don't go there or check the Greatest Page so having it on both GD and GD: Politics is a good thing, imo. It is an important issue so I am glad you have posted it here for those who would not see it otherwise.

14. Hmmmm, either Newsweek, by doing this, is conceding that the
dumbing down of the US public is complete and fluff pieces take precedence or they are propaganda mouthpieces for the bush cabal. I say both are true.

Recommended.

22. Goes along with Americas 'can't lose' attitude.
Problem is, this ain't the 1940s. We don't hold the same world respect we did after WWII. All the well wishing has dried up along with pensions and innovation. We just live off of non-existent coattails. The glory of America has been reduced to pathetic propaganda and lies, lies, lies.

People who run this country are a mere shadows of our past leaders. Nothing but rich scalawags and promise makers who can't deliver.

Hey America, we lost. Get the fuck over it and move one. We can't always win. :eyes:

28. are the contents identicle?
hopefully the article is at least decent. But yea, mag covers need to have something that will grab one's attention. It looks like the Newsweek losing afghan article is on the front of msn.com, which is notable since millions of people get their news from there.

29. This makes me so angry. They lie to us and they hide the truth
We are being played by the most dangerous group of thieves and thugs ever to roam the halls of government! They've made decent Americans seem like criminals in the eyes of the rest of the world. We are hated because of their policies.

And we are too weak to even be confronted with the face of the fighter with his weapon aimed at us, the headline reminding us that we are losers. Much too frightening for Americans to confront that hard truth.

We all live in the magical world of Disneyland. We are all Michael Jackson.
