9. Americans would rather memorialize than take care of.

About the most offensive thing you can do in this country is to go off to war and not have the deceny to die so that people can celebrate your sacrifice with useless granite sculptures and parades; it's especially rotten if you go off to war and not only don't have the decency to get killed, but have the audacity to come back injured, and expect America to take care of you.

Sorry, Vets, but Americans -- especially Republicans -- only care about you because you become a tool for them to memorialize you with words and comparitively cheap monuments that cost them nothing to say but make them look good, or to haul you out as a prop on Veterans' day to celebrate your missing legs before they send you back to your group home where you nurse your alcohol addiction with other discarded heroes because you can't get any medical attention and at least the booze helps with the pain, both physical and spiritual.
