As well as the best of my wishes. I do not normally donate to any political party, but I felt compelled to this election season. I felt compelled to not because of the undying thirst to rid the GOP of duties in the beltway, nor to put equally incompetent politicians in the Democratic party in their place, but to put competent and desireable candidates in office.
The GOP, in my opinion lacks common sense. They are simply out of touch, and so are their constituents. This is no surprise to fine people like us here at DU, but to the rest of the nation the divide is widening and the silence is deafening. We over on the more liberal, sensical side of things are pushing for a great election year, however the Democrats continue to struggle with battles within.
My $20.00 will not go far, it will probaly buy anything less than a bag of mints at a VOFW campaign stop, but my $20.00 will help put a better leader in office...hopefully that is.
It is a shame that we have two parties to actually choose from, and when a vote to the third party in left field hurts the good guys. America today is a conglomerate of ego driven chimpanzees debating laws in a flury of religion and extremism in many aspects. I'm betting on this year and stamping Democrat on my voter registration. We might get lucky and move up the political evolution chain.
