No one can stand up to the newest football God of Michael vick... That's okay.

A tradition has returned in very short order... And just watch that spirit of New Orleans tonight. If you don't get it, you just don't get the rabidity of southern football. The only thing close would be the football fans of Glasgow (and they have a funny shaped ball with lame rules :) )

Kesey's Ghost and Swamp Rat and all the other NO DU'ers, I hope you make it to the game tonight and have a great time and not worry about the rest of it for three hours or so!

Salute to NOLA!

1. I don't know crap about football, or the teams, or the players,
but I'm absolutely sure NO will win (the game) tonight.

7. They just said GHWB was officiating tonight,
so the GOP and the NFL are apparently the same thing.

8. He'd be a dead man if he ever stepped on a pro ball field during a game.
He was a cheerleader... That's as close as he ever got to sports.

19. I would like to have seen more note of the Coast Guard...
like the guys that hung from the helicopters and rescued folks for days in the heat.

They should have done the toss.

6. If you lived in Atlanta or New Orleans... You'd understand!
(LOL) This has always been a great rivalry from before there were any other true SE teams. We were both at the bottom of the list most of the time and... well... You would have to had been there. :toast:

14. Shrub is supposedly in the audience
Wake Me Up When September Ends is actually very appropriate for the event but it would be incredible if they broke from the song list and started playing American Idiot or Holiday.

From the words of the blocker:

"Infinite joy, man," Gleason said. "Infinite joy."

And the spirit rises in New Orleans! WooHoo!

23. I Knew The Falcons Were...
going to get their butts kicked after Kornheiser said in the pre-game that Warrick Dunn had taken a number of his teammates down to the 9th Ward.

There is no way that you could keep your mind on football after seeing all that devastation. So, I knew that they were going to get whipped.

26. I guess I don't get it...
But then again I spent last night on the phone with my buddy who lost everything in NO. He and his family are still living in Fla. with his mom, he was pretty drunk and pissed off, going off on some rant about FEMA being able to rebuild a fucking football stadium in time for the opener but not being able to get families back in their homes after a year. Well, at least the country was able to see that everything is hunky dory in NO, and the all important football game went off without a hitch. :eyes:
