Another conservative hit job on Clinton from FAUX NEWS:

" Former President Bill Clinton, never one to let truth stand in the way of a good line, has decided to reincarnate himself as our tough, anti-terror president.

The man who ran away from military service and displayed striking contempt for our Armed Forces has now announced that he did more -- and would do more -- to combat Usama bin Laden and Al Qaeda than anyone else. In his view, he should be recognized as the best man to fight that enemy.

Speaking to Chris Wallace on FOX News Sunday, Clinton made a bevy of startlingly anti-factual remarks. He announced, for instance, that conservatives had criticized him for obsessing about bin Laden during his presidency -- rather than the truth that he was roundly condemned for doing next to nothing about this serious threat to American security.

Clinton blamed the Bush administration for failing to stop the Al Qaeda terrorists before 9/11, saying that the administration had eight months to get bin Laden and didn't. That conveniently overlooks that Clinton's administration had eight years to do that job, with Al Qaeda using the last two of those years to plan 9/11."

THESE PEOPLE ARE SO FULL OF SHIT! I mean they really are just down to flat out lies aren't they? This isn't a side remark or a half-truth, but a complete LIE! I happen to remember the talk in the media and in Congress at the time that Clinton was simply wagging the dog. FUCKERS!!!

2. Did you really think that they were going to let this thing go?

That "interview" was strike #2, after the ABC thing. It wouldn't have mattered what Clinton did on that
stupid program, the result would be this stuff. This must be the october surprise, 9/11 & everything else that followed was Bill's fault, so you had better keep voting for republicans.

4. Republcians have it both ways
during the 90s, they attacked anti-terrorism as a phony issue and wagging the dog, and now, after all their years of working against Clinton's anti-terror efforts, they have the audacity to say he didn't do enough

6. Not hard to have it both ways when you have total control of the media.

5. I still can't get over that Fox News copied the CBSNews.com design.
This guy seems to be only concerned about 'lies' that come the left... Who cares what he has to say.

7. I just read through this whole "opinion piece"
And I'm FURIOUS!! Lie after lie after lie. My only consolation is that reading through it, his arguments are EXTREMELY pathetic and weak, which just goes to show that Republicans really do not have a leg to stand on and have now resorted to just making shit up.

8. Another Sign Of Desperation...Going For The Clennis
This is as Rovian as it comes...it's the ultimate diversion that keeps on giving...blame Clinton's penis. It doesn't matter what the problem is Clinton's penis made things worse...and this not only gets the right wing hive buzzing, but also fills campaign and Repugnican 527 coffers.

It shows how poorly things are going as the Repugnicans didn't really have to use the Clennis in 2002 & 2004...but we're in all out slime and if scaring the sheeple about "A-rabs flying airplanes into your head" won't work...then let's get some good old "moral indignation" by invoking the Clennis.

While I regret Clinton dropping into the slop to play this game, but it's high time he stood up and set the record straight.

9. The stunning hypocrisy
Lookee what I found:
http://www.conservativeusa.org/wagdog.htm

snippet:
'THE UNAUTHORIZED IRAQ ATTACK WAS GROUNDS FOR IMPEACHMENT

"Instead of putting off the impeachment vote, the House should have voted to impeach him that very day. A President who uses his duties as Commander in Chief to bomb foreign countries every time he wants to change the subject ought to be removed with alacrity," according to Ann Coulter (Human Events, 12/25/98, p. 6).'

10. *sigh*
I wish I could be surprised but the fact is, I'm not surprised in the slightest.

Face facts, Faux are the PR office of the RNC and like the RNC, any tactics (and I do mean "any", the word is an absolute) are acceptable to win. If that means outright lies, slander and libel, they'll do it. Hell, if it meant massacring Democratic voters, they'd do it.

Faux aren't a news service. They don't have the news-gathering resources of, say, the BBC or CNN or even ABC. They don't market themselves to people who want news, they market themselves to people who think Rush "behold my forged Viagra prescription" is an oracle, Bill O'Lielly is the voice of the working man and Michael Moore is worse than Ann Coulter. They market themselves to people who want their prejudices re-affirmed, regardless of the facts and, as far as these people are concerned, Bill Clinton is the devil.

I forget who it was that spoke of "two Americas" but the words have never been more true. Somehow, your society has become split between those who want their news to contain facts, who read, talk about politics and so on and those who want their news broadcasts to be entertainment that reflects their views. I watch a little Faux "news" occasionally (they're heavily edited over here because of our rules about impartiality and news broadcasts reflecting, y'know, facts) and I'm always struck at how at odds with reality they are. Remember that guy who was talking about the "reality-based community"? It's like that. I know people who believe Faux really is "fair and balanced" and they generally believe that the media has a liberal bias, that the left are the more vicious side (this from the party of Ann Coulter, the Swiftboat smear and Dick "fuck yourself" Cheney). The real world doesn't matter to them. Anything which conflicts with the views they already hold is false, and can therefore be safely discarded. You're never going to get through to them so, while I admire the effort of trying, it's really a waste of time and resources.

11. You're right, but the very fact that they wrote this story
gives credibility to what Clinton said. Everyone knows Fox is PR for the Republican Party and he finally said it out loud.
