BushCo. Was Actually Given TWO Clinton-Era Documents (Al Qaeda Strategy)
Well color me surprised here! Condi Rice caught in another lie.

In an interview with the New York Post, she says that the Clinton Administration did not leave the Bush Administration a comprehensive plan for fighting Al Qaeda. She told the New York Post: "We were not left a comprehensive strategy to fight al-Qaida." (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060926/ap_on_re_us/rice_clinton)

Sorry, Condi. That's a lie!

The Bush Adminstration was actually given TWO documents relative to the figt against Al Qaeda, that had been prepared during the Clinton Administration.

On January 25, 2001, just FIVE DAYS after Condi Rice assumed her role as National Security Adviser, White House Counterterrorism official Richard Clarke (who had also served in the Reagan, Bush I, and Clinton administrations), sent Condi Rice a memo "urgently" asking for a principles-level meeting to discuss Al Qaeda.

To his memo to Rice, Richard Clarke attached TWO documents: a 2000 strategy paper, and one from 1998 known as the "Delenda plan."

He wrote in his memo to Rice:

"Attached is the year-end 2000 strategy on al Qida developed by the last Administration to give to you. Also attached is the 1998 strategy. Neither was a "covert action only" approach. Both incorporated diplomatic, economic, military; public diplomacy and intelligence tools. Using the 2000 paper as background, we could prepare a decision paper/guide for a PC review."

(Read the entire declassified text of Richard Clarke's memo to Rice here: http://www2.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB147/clarke%20memo.pdf)

2. Wow, I sure as hell call that "comprehensive". What else did they
need? Someone flying planes into buildings or something?

18. No one could have anticipated that, though.
Just how stupid do these people think we are? It must be hard having to lie all the time in order to cover-up your own incompetence or blatant refusal to do what is necessary to keep us safe.

3. THEY DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW
They were too busy kicking back at Bush**'s ranch and discussing how to fabricate the need for an invasion of Iraq to bother with frivolous stuff like al Qaeda. Or Al Qida.

OR

They were waiting for bin Laden to give them the excuse to invade Iraq.

5. "this is not a fruitful discussion"

"I think this is not a very fruitful discussion," she said. "We've been through it. The 9/11 commission has turned over every rock and we know exactly what they said."

9. Hi Bubba!
He's a cutie and I love that you named him after "The Big Dog". My husband and I always call him Bubba affectionately. I may not have always agreed with everything he has said and done but he is my favorite President and he was inspirational the other day. They should all try and fight like that. It's about time.

11. I really think they hate Clinton because they hate themselves
He is everything they are not. He came from absolutely nothing. No money. No family connections. Even his homelife was dysfunctional with domestic violence and alcoholism. Yet somehow this boy believed in himself and the possibilities of the American Dream. We know he worked hard, he had to. We know that he is extraordinarily intelligent, he had to be. He actually speaks from his own mind, has his own thoughts, actually knows what he is talking about. This is unheard of in the land of GOP talking points faxed to you daily to tell you what to think. He is strong, he is independent, he is capable, and he is fearless. He is everything a leader should be. Of course he would not take such bullshit said to his face. He fought endlessly against terror. He knows how all of the hard work was just squandered after he left. He knows how much he would have done differently if he were still President in 2001 but he kept his mouth shut out of respect for the office and tradition. But when you call him responsible for thousands of American lives he is going to let you have it and is right to be furious.

They hate him because they know he is better than most of them. They know that they would never be able to compete with him on an even playing field, that the deck was stacked in their favor for most of their lives. I hope he keeps fighting back. I hope he inspires others too. Your kitty has a proud name to live up to. All heil President Bubba!

otherwise a most excellent rant.

But I thought that there must be one or two of them that don't suck completely or at least were self-made and in theory "deserve" their positions. But you're probably right. :P

8. You know, God forbid the press actually do fact-finding
when they report this shit. God forbid they do some basic research that shows that Rice is lying.

20. Exactly! They just uncritically report what Condi says, w/o bothering
to see if she's talking out of her ass (which she is).

As someone who has a degree is mass media arts/print journalism, I am really disgusted by it.

These people are not "journalists" at all.

It sickens me that the "media" won't lift a finger to print the truth.

22. Absolutely I remember they're all strung out no wonder they're psychopaths
Understanding this makes their behavior more understandable.

Disclaimer: no I do not believe all people who use sleep aides are psychopaths. But I do believe these people abuse these drugs and alcohol which can cause no REM sleep induced psychopathology.
Although maybe they started out as psychopaths.
