OK, so what happened? (Clinton interview)
Ben-Veniste is clearing up Clinton and Bush's stand on. going after OBL

This thread presents a comprehensive overview of the whole sordid mess of the Bushistas and 9/11. It is painfully obvious that Bush either didn’t know what was going on or didn’t care to do anything. Or he had an ulterior motive in allowing 9/11 to go through, evidenced by his peculiar behavior that day and reports from the above DU thread that suggest Bush and the Saudis have/had a cozy relationship. The Clinton interview on FOX opened the floodgates, and a torrent of lies and distortions have flooded the national scene.

So what happened? The Bushistas have been crafty in concealing their true agenda and having the Corporate Media cover for them. They have been somewhat successful in hiding their lies and crimes behind a curtain of media whores. Now, they are exposed. What was the Clinton interview suppose to do? I can’t believe FOX put The Big Dog on to further shield George the Torturer. Did they really think Clinton would help their cause? Was this a miscalculation? What were the FOX execs thinking when they scheduled Chris Wallace to “interview” Bill Clinton? Did they simply ****-up big time?

What happened?

3. Actually, I believe it was a blindside ...
but they forgot that this was a guy who was rewriting speeches in the limo on the way to delivering them, and still came out hitting a home run with his speech; hastily edited as it was ...

5. Remember Clinton's 1994 SOTU speech?
this was a guy who was rewriting speeches in the limo on the way to delivering them

The Speech...

Mr. Speaker, Mr. President, members of the 103rd Congress, my fellow Americans:

I am not sure what speech is in the TelePrompTer tonight, but I hope we can talk about the State of the Union.

I ask you to begin by recalling the memory of the giant who presided over this chamber with such force and grace. Tip O'Neill liked to call himself "A Man of the House" and he surely was that. But even more, he was a man of the people, a bricklayer's son who helped to build the great American middle class. Tip O'Neill never forgot who he was, where he came from, or who sent him here. Tonight he's smiling down on us for the first time from the Lord's gallery. But in his honor, may we too also remember who we are, where we come from, and who sent us here.

If we do that we will return over and over again to the principle that if we simply give ordinary people equal opportunity, quality education, and a fair shot at the American dream, they will do extraordinary things.

We gather tonight in a world of changes so profound and rapid that all nations are tested. Our American heritage has always been to master such change, to use it to expand opportunity at home, and our leadership abroad. But for too long and in too many ways, that heritage was abandoned, and our country drifted.

For 30 years family life in America has been breaking down. For 20 years the wages of working people have been stagnant or declining. For the 12 years of trickle down economics we built a false prosperity on a hollow base as our national debt quadrupled. From 1989 to 1992 we experienced the slowest growth in a half century. For too many families, even when both parents were working, the American dream has been slipping away.

InfoPlease

The wrong speech was loaded in the teleprompter, but Clinton went on to give his SOTU speech anyway.

7. No Way
That was not a blind side. Clinton had to figure, even if he or his operatives had nothing to do with actually setting up that little set up, that there was a good chance the topic would come up. Remember, Clinton is an excellent politician. Personally, I think there's a better than even chance that his camp had something to do with that question even being asked, but even if he didn't, he knew he was on Fox, he knew this topic has been floating around, and he knows he's done some pot stirring on this subject.

2. As with all cheaters and liers....they were arrogant...
They have been making more miscalculations of late....

It's kind of like the snow ball rolling down the hill and getting biger and bigger......

They have lost control and they can't keep a tight reign on all of the breaches in their machine.......

And now that Condi has come out and claimed the the administration has done as much as Clintons administration it begs the question if that is the case then why didn't the US stop the attacks.....?

4. Off topic, I read here that Clinton is responsible for the demise of the
fairness doctrine. But I goggled and found that the reagan FCC repealed the fairness doctrine in 1987 which was upheld by a DC court of appeals. And attempts to have it overtured was threatened by Bush Sr in 1991. So how did Clinton play a role in this?

6. I think it was an agreement between Murdoch and Big Dog
Murdoch made a large donation to Clinton's Global Initiative. My guess is Murdoch dared him.

Murdoch: "I'll give you 7 meellion dollars if you go on my network for an interview"

Clinton: "You got a deal but I get to talk about my Global Initiative"

Murdoch: "Okay. 15 minutes, you talk about your Global Initiative. 15 minutes we can ask you anything we want."

Clinton: "Bring it on biatch. Now write me that check!"

:)

8. I'd Venture to Say
that Clinton was dying to be asked about bin Laden on national TV. Murdoch/Fox/whoever built him a little platform from which to make a speech he's been dying to make and even helped him up onto the stage. He roped those dopes AGAIN.
