2. Reminds me of just after Sept. 11
I was working at a local TV station and a woman called in a panic, saying she had heard a rumor that people shouldn't go to the mall on Halloween because the terrorists were going to attack. She was really freaking out. I had to talk her off the ledge with a bit of logic: a) terrorist Muslims don't give a damn about our fall holiday; 2) do you know how many malls there are in the U.S.? how can they possibly attack them all in one night? (what are they, the anti-Santa Claus?); 3) what in the world are you doing going to a mall on Halloween? you should be handing out candy to costumed urchins; and finally 4) if you're still terrified, stay the hell home that night.

It was like a Monty Python sketch: "...oh. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks!"

SHEESH.

Anyway, it's amazing how Mr. Average American Citizen (read: nobody) can become convinced their nowhere town is the center of the universe and them terr'ists are just itchin' to attack THEIR HOUSE in that nowhere town.

Good last frame, too. Mission accomplished.

6. Tom Tomorrow, excellent as always...
Seems that conservofascists need their boogy-man, their great enemy, their ubiquitous threat almost more than they need air to breath. It's just self justification to support their authoritarian tendancies.

The "terrorist threat" was a nice replacement for the "communist threat"...I guess the "UN threat" just wasn't rallying the troops enough.
