Internet War Games
Edited on Tue Sep-26-06 12:36 PM by me b zola
A while back there were articles discussing how the Pentagon conducted "internet war games" meant to take control of the internet in order to stop the "enemy" from disseminating information.

A couple of times since that information has been made public, at the exact time that a * speech was going to begin, DU has gone down or experienced a severe slow down. Now of course these could be coincidences, but then again maybe not. I don't think that we will ever know for sure.

Regardless of why, I have noticed @ the times when DU goes down at the same time as a * speech--we don't post any threads about the speech, our discussion about the content of the speech is little to nothing. In other words, our behavior and the information that we disseminate is altered by these well timed "glitches". If these "glitches" are attacks, shouldn't we fight back?

I suggest that we are unable to post while a speech or event is live, that as soon as DU is back we should have @ least one thread to discuss the content of the speech and the many nuances that we usually hit upon. Anyway, that's my $.02

3. But if there is so much discussion here, where are the threads?
I dunno, I couldn't get in. They might have been all over the page.

5. If you can't get in, that most likely means that others can't get in.
Which would account for the lack of posts :)

4. And that is possible
But regardless of the cause, retro-posting about the speech wouldn't hurt any, but it would help those who can't watch for one reason or another.

9. I hate Bush and never ever want to listen to or discuss his speeches
Well, that explains my not posting about the MIC (moron-in-chief)

10. I've discovered a surprising number of people
like myself who simply can't bear to listen to that chimpanzee spew vile any longer. I'll listen to almost anything political - historical, local, innane, SPAN 27 - you name it. I simply cannot bear the ugliness of the chimp. I am weak.
