Clinton's timing is impeccable, isn't it? He got tough at the right moment - the country is finally ready to hear it! We've been caught in a real-life version of The Emperor's New Clothes ... and Big Dog is the person who finally says, "But he has nothing on at all." :D

55. Off by a Couple of Years
Actually, it was the American people who first stood up to Republicans and their criminality, when the New Deal generation and others told them to get their God-damned hands off our Social Security a couple of years ago. The first famous person I heard making statements against Bush was not a male at all, but was the great Whoopi Goldberg, when it still wasn't safe.

Colbert told the emperor he had no clothes RIGHT TO HIS UGLY FACE !

I thought he was a terrific comedian before that but since then I have coonsidered him a great American.

19. On 25 March 1965
Martin stood before the state capitol building in Montgomery, a city that at the time took pride in calling itself "the Cradle of the Confederacy." He delivered the word that day. He spoke about the bloody conflict on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma. His friends say the speech was "like Jonah in the belly of the whale."

Here's part:

"I know you are asking today, 'How long will it take?' I come to say to you this afternoon however difficult the moment, however frustrating the hour, it will not be long, because truth pressed to earth will rise again.

"How long? Not long, because no lie can live forever.
"How long? Not long, because you still reap what you sow.
"How long? Not long. Because the arm of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice."

25. That's how Bill was legitimately elected to two terms.
They tried the swiftboating style shit with Bill, because it worked so well with Kerry. Well, John Kerry is no Bill Clinton.

Bill went straight to the source and slapped them down in a way that they had never seen before. He showed that if you get straight in their face their lies will shrivel if challenged. Watching that smarmy little git Wallace look like he was getting ready to cry made my year.

Clinton won both polls against Rice and Bush on who handled Bin Laden better and he won them by 20 points. A big turn around since the ABC 9/11 movie.

34. Lawrence O'Donnell, on Olbermann, said Clinton came out way ahead
because (1) he gave specifics. he elaborated what he did and how. all we get from Bush/Rice is denial and more bullshit. and (2) because Clinton admitted failure and was stern in that admission. Bush/Rice just keeps lying and tries to pass the buck off on the previous administration.

Plus, Clinton is more popular than Bush, but at LEAST 20 points in the polls.

*high fucking five*
