A person who holds allegiance to a war enemy of the United States shouldn't be a Senator. Granted, the Civil War was more than 140 years ago, but it's the principal. Some of these neoconfederates still want to succeed.

1. He likes the Confederacy because he identifies with their views of blacks
He is a US senator because 30% backwash vote plus 21% of Americans who vote for the guy they'd like to have a beer with = election success!!!

2. They think they finally won the civil war now that Bush* is Prez
I seriously believe the confederacy(a bunch of racist white folk) never stopped fighting the civil war and believe that w/ GWB they think they can finally "win". They sure have been acting that way.

George "Macacca" Allen is the saddest example pf a wannabe white folk who has spent a lifetime hiding his background to get ahead. It's only an issue for him since his chosen base is white racists. His cowboy boots are a little tight right now. He is the worst kind of denier, I believe he knew for a while and i believe he hated his mother for it, despite his protestations.

4. And let him take his Macaca, "N', and Jewish putdowns with him
He appears to be a candidate from the 1950's, not this century.

6. Didja hear him say he was a buckaroo or something?
This guy if freakin' caraaaazy. He had chaps also.

If it weren't so pitiful - it would be funny. This was the guy that they thought would be the frontrunner for the Republican Party. We missed a bullet with this guy being uprooted.

5. It's the "ownership society" ...
Edited on Wed Sep-27-06 12:38 AM by TahitiNut
... where the "owners" are the leisure class, the slaves and sharecoppers are the working class, and mansions, fancy dress, carriages, and strings of horses are the conspicuous consumption. Women and children are chattel. Only male landowners can vote - lose your land, lose your vote. Labor has no voice. (Like "guest workers" and ex-felons.)

For some (Allen included), this is their (dystopic) idea of utopia ... living high off the labors of others.

7. "why is he a US Senator?"

Allen is one of those guys that was identified years ago by the gop machine as tool. He was perfect for the role in every way. He really only has a superficial understanding of the confederacy, and mostly just hates minorities, which up until his national exposure never meant anything. Even if he gets reelected, he has been reduced to a pathetic Lester Maddox kind of character now. He is finished as a
presidential hopeful.

They will probably stick with Romney.

11. Exchanging Moron for Mormon.
Good luck to them, although Romney does have a good head of hair. I don't think he is type you would "have a beer with".

they are out of town ,far enough away from home & hearth.
