State Department poll-Most iraqis want U.S. out...
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/09/26/AR2006092601721.html

A strong majority of Iraqis want U.S.-led military forces to immediately withdraw from the country, saying their swift departure would make Iraq more secure and decrease sectarian violence, according to new polls by the State Department and independent researchers.

In Baghdad, for example, nearly three-quarters of residents polled said they would feel safer if U.S. and other foreign forces left Iraq, with 65 percent of those asked favoring an immediate pullout, according to State Department polling results obtained by The Washington Post.

2. I guarantee we will still be there several years from now

We meddle. That's our problem. We like to tell others what to do. We're in their homes and in their lives, and we haven't the right.

We either leave voluntarily, or we are forced to leave through sheer attrition.

3. This and the NIE are a one two punch against staying the course.
I forwarded this article to a conservative whom I'm trying to convert to Lamont.

4. This site has known that for years. I am not sure what makes us so
smart but it may be that we just sat and think about it and how people act. You do not win wars on such things as Communism, poverty and drugs either. They are abstract ways of thinking. You win wars against armies of men and machines like Hitlers Germany or Japan. They are just to different things. The terrorist can also not win on the modern way of life moving into their world, even if Bush has set that back some what. This is what distroyed USSR and from the inside not the out side.It is very odd that any one who swears they are Christians would not understand this. They must know something of that history. It just drives me up a wall that this seems so hard to see. Each foot war in the mist of these great movement seems to get lost. A type of Demo racy is going around the world and one only need to read a little of history to see this world wide movement and who will stop it? Just a few slow-downs along the way.
