It must be some type of autonomous defense mechanism kicking in..When they get to that point,
I just start laughing at their peculiar looking faces..and sort of look them in the eye as they
read my lips (did I just say that?) and mouthe..."you don't want to hear it, do you?" Silently,
they nod their heads in approval with eyes begging me to STOP!

Saw a car with a bunch of BushCo stickers and a few Christian ones (Jesus is watching, what will you say an Judgement day) parked outside a porn store. One that rents.

Saw a car with a BushCo sticker and a bunch of the standard RW Christian crap (Got Jesus?, Terri was Murdered, Marriage = (man) + (woman), etc) parked illegally in a non-existant space at McDonalds...

And I see plenty of those stupid circle W04 stickers at liquor stores.


Interestingly enough, I never see these stickers near the military recruiters' offices....

3. My wife and my mother in law and I

are dyed in the wool democrats (as was my father in law prior to his death two years ago.) We had bush pegged before the 2000 election. I have a few neanderthal brothers-in-law who aren't as loud as they used to be. Especially the one who's son is a junior in high school. The son was tucked away safely in the 8th grade when the war began and daddy was rah-rah-rahing.

Based on the letters to the editor in the New Orleans and Gulfport papers its just about a draw. The fucking morons too proud to admit they are wrong getting their ltte's handed to them by angry liberal letter writers sick and tired of "conservative" shit.

Since you asked I guess this is as good as any to share what I am dealing with. My bush*bot MIL just moved back to Portland with her ailing rapture-ready mother. Up till recently I've dealt with the self-loathing republicanism of MIL by keeping my distance. But Grandma had a little turn and now needs assistance, so now I come here everyday :crazy:

I don't see MIL much, but besides being religiously insane, grandma listens to all of the "religious" shows that are pimping the upcoming war on Iran and just in general spew hate and fear. Now on a daily basis I get to hear all of the gop talking points as they are chewed, swallowed, and puked up by Grandma via her watching faux newz & the christian taliban stations. :crazy:

He used to be a political junkie and now watches NOTHING and doesn't want to even discuss politics. I think he's having some serious cognitive dissonance.

I know better than to expect that he won't go out and vote Republican becasue he's a follower and follows the rest of my family who is rock-solid Republican.

I don't even bother telling him anything becuase it just drives him further into his position - he thinks I'm a hard core radical. I only hope that someone else can get him to wake up.

there's a lady in my town who has had two signs on her front lawn supporting Bush and the War (they said something like "We stand united with President Bush and our troops") for three years.She's had them knocked down frequently and they've been stolen before but she just makes new ones, so I didn't think too much of it when I didn't see them a couple weeks ago. Then I noticed that they still aren't up. I saw her in the gas station two days ago and I casually said "I see someone took your signs again". She just looked at me and said "No, I took them down" but she didn't say anymore than that and I didn't push-I'm hopeful though.
