2. I remain skeptical. We thought McCain, Warner and Graham wouldn't
either.

5. He's my Senator
and I actually called him today to vote no to this "comprimise" bill. I hope he's for real this time, but I'm suspicious this is some finageling.

6. Why is he the only one?
He is doing the right thing, but where are the democrats? Very skeptical. When you have to rely on Arlen Spector to save the Constitution things have gotten very twisted. He quoted S.D. O'Conner earlier saying HC applies to all individuals not only citizens. to smack down Graham. Quorum call now. Is this real?

12. Thank you
I tuned in late today, just in time to see the Levin ammendment go down. Wasn't sure where they were on the rest of it. But I have to admit it is very strange to watch Spector and he did put together an excellent speech on HC. I will e mail him.

defectors (Landrieu for example on the Levin amendment) it totally undercuts any robust opposition to the reTHUGS.

I don't have any illusions about Arlen, he'll put up a big fuss and then he'll totally cave.

Sorry, manners escaped me - welcome to DU! :hi:

15. "Talk tough and carry a little stick."
"Teddy-wannabe" Specter talks big and then does the Chimperor's bidding. How many dozen times have we seen this? The chihuahua that cried "Wolf." He runs around barking a lot, but a beach ball knocks him down.
