Unbelievable video just shown on ABC

ABC just showed a KBR driver who was left by himself and shot by insurgants twice when their convoy was attacked. Halliburton DOES NOT GIVE THEIR DRIVERS MAPS. They had gotten lost. The truck at the front of the convoy was attacked and rolled. The humvee got away. That left one driver, by himself and unarmed, sitting for 45 minutes. He witnessed the slaying of the other driver and the passanger with him.

To make it worse, KBR fired him for getting wounded.

A dramatic home video obtained by ABC News shows U.S. troops apparently abandoned a truck convoy after it came under insurgent attack in Iraq last year.

Three unarmed Halliburton truck drivers were executed at point-blank range once the troops left, according to a surviving driver, Preston Wheeler, of Mena, Ark., who taped the scene.

Wheeler says Halliburton did not provide any of the drivers with maps or even rudimentary drawings of the location.

He says when he was hired by Halliburton he was promised the trucks would be equipped with bullet proof glass and armed guards every third truck.

"That's a lie, it's a gimmick, a sales pitch," Wheeler said.

That video is profoundly disturbing; I didn't think I could watch it all. I couldn't see the executions at the end, thank goodness, but I can't imagine going through this.

Did I hear that correctly? That is a huge number. When I hear civilan contractor, I think truck driver, cook, mechanics, etc. - all those support positions that are now contracted out to Halliburton and KBR instead of being internal military.
