Freeper goes nuts, starts brawl in restaurant over same-sex marriage

WAUWATOSA, Wis. -- A violent brawl broke out on Tuesday during a discussion in a Wauwatosa restaurant over the proposed same-sex marriage referendum, and the incident was apparently caught on videotape.

The patrons' discussion at George Webb's restaurant allegedly focused on the proposal to add an amendment to the state constitution to explicitly prohibit gay marriage, and apparently became heated, WISC-TV reported.

In the video, a man in a suit can be seen pushing one person down and punching another customer. The man walks out and then comes back, apparently throwing ketchup bottles and other objects.

(snip)

"That's what it was," Lopez said. "It was a very hateful circumstance. Obviously, the guy had a problem with gay issues, gay marriage."

5. Here's video!

I caught it on Channel 12 news earlier and sought out the story. TMJ4 has the video of it:

http://www.todaystmj4.com/_content/news/topstories/story_4502.asp

It started with a group of diners talking about gay marriage and the same-sex marriage amendment that will be on Wisconsin's November election ballot.

A gay woman named "Jorryn" says the debate got heated when a customer from another part of the restaurant came over and joined the gay marriage discussion. "He said it's never going to happen, it's never going to never going to pass in Wisconsin, and it's against God."

That when the argument got physical.

Surveillance video shows the man, who had just joined the debate, pushed "Jorryn" down and then punched another customer.

And this fucking mouthbreather struck a woman?

:wtf:

What a scumbag!

Granted, the food at Webb's can sometimes cause violent reactions, but jeez!

11. CORRECTION: It is in Senselessbrenner's district
Edited on Wed Sep-27-06 06:52 PM by Fighting Irish
'Tosa is right next to Milwaukee. I live near the border in Milwaukee, and Gwen Moore was on my ballot. Seselessbrenner's confined mostly to the north and west suburban counties, though he does dip into the more affluent suburbs (gee, how did that happen?).

I believe Tosa is slightly more left-leaning overall, though. As far as campaign signs, a healthy mix of both parties, though more Dem than Thug.

12. Welcome to George Bush's America - where once upon a time
the bigots worked in sheets under the cover of darkness. They now feel completely comfortable attacking people in broad daylight on camera no less. The Chimp and the Christian Taliban has managed to make bigotry mainstream again.

17. Faux Nooz showed this clip sometime ago
but did not say who was responsible and there was no audio.

I guess they did not want to implicate one of their own as being guilty of starting this brawl.

19. Standard GOP trick: put a "ban gay marriage" initiative on the ballot...
simply to turn out the knuckle-dragging base in off-year elections, or whenever voter turnout is suspected to be low.

Sadly, this confrontation proves the strategy's effectiveness -- one more thing to divide Americans and set them against one another.

In this case, the guy with the "gay issues" problem is probably fighting a ton of repression within himself. Why else would he have such an intense, violent reaction to a topic of discussion????
