Can ask a question? What good is a Democratic majority...
if they vote with the Republicans?

Just an observation, but if they for to rubber stamp the President, they aren't any different than the Republicans. Or maybe I'm just morally and intellectually confused.

1. We don't have a Democratic majority
Also, if we control Congress, we won't even have to let the torture/wiretapping legislation get to the floor for a vote. We can just kill it in committee.

4. Its an interesting (and chilling) thought........
Maybe these folks are truly voting the will of their constituency, and we the outraged are the minority. Maybe mainstream America is more concerned with vanity and their place in the material world than they are about being a member of a global society. It may very well be over their heads.

We are in a tough place.

7. The mainstream is either uninformed and ignorant or evil then.
There is no other way to describe them.

6. Replacing Republicans who vote with Bush 100% with Dems who vote
with him 50% of the time is still a serious improvement. Look at RI. Chafee is probably the least moronic Republican in the senate, but replacing him with Whitehouse (D) is going to be a great improvement. Replacing Frist with Ford, Allen with Webb, Santorum with Casey, Talent with Brown, Burns with Tester... all great improvements even if some of them vote in ways that piss us off sometimes.
