My kids are liberal Democrats.
I couldn't be prouder.

My daughter is now an 18YO in a big city far, far away. She's meeting people from different countries and culures....she's getting her biases challenged head-on. She's learning the concept of sharing, independence, interdependence, reflection, optimism, pessimism, and appreciation. She's....really learning.

My son is a 17YO tough guy football player and UFC fanatic. He really doesn't understand why we can engage in a war based on lies. I can't explain it to him. He volunteers to work through his Key Club. His football coach had a high profile camp dedicated to bringing Israeli and Palestinian kids together to live and work together in a nuetral environment. Is that cool or what?

Both of my kids are just beginning their life's journey...and both are making me so proud that they consider themselves liberal and progressive Democrats.

1. Great kids require great parents.

You should be proud. It sounds like you've got two great kids there.

2. Most people their age are
Speaking for myself and my friends, I can say that most people in our generation are going to grow up on the left side of the issues. Outside my little bubble in Colorado Springs, pretty much none of my contemporaries are getting bent out of shape by things like gay marriage or the other wedge issues the Repubs. like to throw around. Even back home, people I know from my old school are slowly shifting from the right to the left. A lot of people who used to be "conservative" on facebook are now "moderate".

Even people who you wouldn't think of as politically minded, I'd say, are generally in agreement with us. Hopefully everyone who's under age 25 now will wise up and vote for the rest of their lives even if they aren't voting now. I have full confidence that this country, and the world, will get back on the right track once the millenial generation comes to power.

Thanks RNC...you've finally awoken a whole generation of Democrats.....the RNC reached its highwatermark 2 years ago (maybe sooner). It's all downhill from here.
