As in the Dynastic Cycle of Imperial China.

I equate the current situation in the United States to the end of a dynasty.. we are goverened by poor, self centered, inexperienced leadership. Each dynastic cycle in China was terminated under similar circumstances.. however the transition certainly did not happen overnight. Sometimes a full scale foreign invasion was neccecary to return to greatness. Transition was often inspired by great suffering by the people over many generations. We may think we are better, or smarter.. but we are still humans on this earth. In the end we have no real control over our destiny. I will do my part and vote.. but a bigger change is required..

How is the American form of govt going to stand up to this abuse? Only time will tell. After 200+ years it looks like our system has begun to show it's age. Even the greatest dynasties in China could only make it 400 or so years. No system of Govt is perfect. Ingenious and evil humans will always find ways to circumvent the securities built in. In the long run, we may again return some day to greatness.

However, in order to shine with greatness, history shows us that pain and suffering is almost always a prerequisite.

is if they pre-empt American Idol. In fact, I am convinced at this point that more people would riot over American Idol than any actions of BUSHCO. Case in point: Look at what happens with sporting events. The team loses and fans take to the streets looting, burning cars, attacking police. I don't know about you guys, but it can't hurt to get things organized/affairs in order.

Try keeping some cash on hand outside your bank...a few bucks in the wallet will suffice, don't depend on your debit card to always work. Have important documents together in one spot. Extra non-perishable food in the pantry. Gas tank always 1/2 full. Keep a phone and email contact list in writing with your documents (not primarily in any electronic device...what if it's not around/dead?) Throw an old big bag you have lying around with comfy clothes/extra old shoes/socks in your vehicle. Etc...

All theses tips should be handy for general preparedness as well :) And, hey, at least they make me feel like I'm doing something to ward off the creeping dread.
