My letter to my Republican congressman about HR6166...

Please explain to me how you can call yourself a Christian and yet vote to allow the torture of another human being. HR6166 was the death keel to the United States of America. Granting immunity to those who have willfully violated US law and the Geneva Conventions; granting 'war powers' to a man who cannot comprehend the definition of human dignity; eliminating the 800 year old right of habeas corpus; denying the use of evidence in defense proceedings and other vile sections of HR6166, has handed victory to the 'terrorists'. They have no need to physically attack us again since our own government has undermined our liberties and Constitution.

Tell me, Representative Boozman, where in the Bible Jesus recommended treating other human beings worse than animals? Where is your respect for human life now? The evils the USA has inflicted on the Middle East stands parallel with those of other fascist empires.

Why do you believe that our struggle with 'terrorists' requires a radical change from our founding beliefs or that we 'need' torture today but didn't throughout the previous 230 years of our history?

I am ashamed that HR6166 was ever allowed to be introduced in the USA.
