Florida Senator's Phones overwhelmed on Torture Bill

I just got off the phone with Bill Nelson's office and told them to vote no on the torture bill. What was surprising was how long the phone rang before being picked up asking me to "hold please". Then waited 5 minutes for someone to pick up on me.

I spoke my mind and then asked if they have been receiving many calls on the issue and the young man told me that today has been overwhelming. At 4pm they had already had over 800 calls were expecting to reach over a 1000 calls by 6pm. He said the majority of calls expressed the same sentiment as myself with only a few calls favoring the bill.

Mel Martinez's phone went directly to his message center. That has never happened to me before so I imagine that he is having the same reaction.
