What WOULD be the last straw for you to abandon the party?

Sorry, as a Texan, I could not resist the above visual metaphor.

1. Question back at you: Are the odds better that the next GOP run Congress
will rewrite this bill closer to Geneva Convention or that a Dem run Congress would?

This is one of those times when numbers matter.

You either WANT Waxman, Kucinich, and Conyers to have subpoena powers or you don't - it's THAT simple.

11. so torture is okay if it's a means to an end?
e.g. we should hold our nose and support it because it's the lesser of two evils?

13. Hey Nader stood for something beautiful, he still does
and I bet he public ally opposes this torture deal-i-o. To support torture is to spite the ol face, imho.

12. I agree
but my OP was an honest question.

I don't think we should let Rove divide and conquer on this. I will still be voting straight-ticket Dem on November 7th.

But we need to find a way to make a stand against this.

I am honestly wondering where and how we draw the line.

9. The Dems could start roundin up the Jews for all I care
I ain't never leavin this party. Not for the Greens, not for the Reform party... nothin...

In for a penny, in for a pound.

Actually, I would bolt a the chance for real liberal leadership. If RFKjr started a third party, I would bolt. The Dems suck, but they are the only game in town. We have to play on their team.

14. Locking.
Mod consensus is that the original post is a broad brush general attack on Democrats (the majority of DUers) and anti-Democratic advocacy.

Thanks.
